Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTisha Sanders.

Hi LaTisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ever since I was young, I’ve always been artistic and loved drawing, and painting. My Mom enrolled me in an elementary school that really helped bring out my creativity and encouraged me to explore that side of myself even more. What started with drawing and painting eventually expanded into other creative outlets like music, poetry, modeling and storytelling. Those experiences helped shape who I am today and inspired my passion for creating meaningful art.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not—it hasn’t been a smooth road! One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced has been myself. There’s a saying that your biggest enemy is yourself, and I’ve found that to be true. I’ve had to learn to get out of my own way and believe in the talent that God has blessed me with.

I’ve had to remind myself that my work has value, that people do want to see what I create, and that there’s a place in this vast universe where my talents are meant to be seen and heard. Building confidence and overcoming self-doubt has been an ongoing journey, but I keep pushing myself to create, share my work, and trust the process. Every step forward has helped me grow both as an artist and as a person.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist—and I’m proud that I can say that I’m an artist in more ways than one, lol. I’m most known for my silhouette abstract paintings, which I call them, often centered around themes of Black love, identity, and emotion. My work is really about storytelling through shape, color, and feeling.

But my creativity doesn’t stop there. I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to grow in digital art, where I’ve been drawing and developing designs for graphic apparel. On top of that, I’ve stepped into music, releasing work under AI artist names like Hearts Echo and Peace Cross. Each of these creative lanes allows me to express different parts of myself.

Another gift I had been sitting on for a long time was songwriting. I’m really proud that I’ve finally started sharing it—hearing my words and stories come to life outside of a notebook in my closet has been incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that my art can actually reach people and live beyond me is what sets this journey apart, and it’s what keeps me creating.

What makes you happy?
I have a lot of answers to that question, but the most significant one is Jesus. Honestly, without Him, there would be no me. There would be no creativity, no passion, and I don’t think I would have been able to overcome my own self-doubt. He’s the One who has carried me through it all.

Jesus makes me happy because He gives me peace, wisdom, love, and purpose. He has blessed me with the talent and the ability to create, and with the opportunity to share those gifts with others. Sometimes I can overlook just how much He’s done for me, but when I reflect on it, I realize He is the source of my true joy. Everything I create is ultimately an expression of the gifts He’s given me, and that brings me happiness and fulfillment.
