Check Out Keith Wampler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Wampler.

Hi Keith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started playing music when I was in High School playing in local bands with friends from 2005 – 2009 which is when the band I was in started touring. I was getting to see the whole U.S. playing Metal music and I was instantly hooked. When I split with that band in 2011 I founded The Convalescence which has grown into more than I could have ever asked for over the past 14 years. Since then our music has reached the Billboard Charts, ITunes Charts, U.S. Radio Charts, and has reached several million streams across multiple platforms. The band has performed over 1,000 shows in 16 countries and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I definitely can’t say it’s been a smooth road. Playing in an up and coming touring Metal band is not easy. We’ve had broken down vehicles, Band member changes, Gear issues, toured through Natural disasters, etc. You name it we’ve probably had to figure out a way around it to keep going. The key is just to not give up no matter how difficult the journey becomes.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We put on a theatrical Horror themed Metal performance featuring gore, zombies, corpse paint, and plenty of blood. We’re very proud of the music we’ve created and I really enjoy trying to step up the show every chance we get from tour to tour.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
This is kind of funny but a lot of people are very surprised to learn that I’m a big Pittsburgh Steelers football fan and even when we’re on the road I drag the whole band and crew to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Steelers play before load in.
