Check Out Jasmine Willis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Willis

Hi Jasmine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The Trash Boys LLC began as a simple community project started by my two teenagers. They took it upon themselves to clean up the city, spending their time picking up trash and improving our neighborhood. While out doing this, they noticed that many seniors in the area struggled to take their trash bins to the curb and back. They saw a real need in the community and wanted to help.

After coming home and telling me about the people they assisted for free, we started talking about how we could do even more. One thing the boys always wanted to be are entrepreneurs. They didn’t know what they wanted to do. They just wanted to be self employed at an early age. That’s when I came across a TikTok video that sparked the idea to turn their efforts into a business. We decided to take the leap. We made flyers and began offering Trash 2 Curb and Trash 2 Bin services before we were even officially registered.

It didn’t take long for things to take off. Our flyer went viral on Facebook, and we quickly gained a solid base of clients who appreciated the service. The demand showed just how important this work was. With the support of the community, we officially registered as an LLC and expanded our services. What started as two teenagers helping their neighbors has grown into a successful business with plans for further expansion. The boys were honored by Mayor Matt Burke of Garfield Heights in a city council resolution for their entrepreneurship and contributions to the city.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles we face was the demand for seniors and disabled residents who could not afford the cost of services. Because we care and want to help them, we decided to create a sponsorship program to help cover their fees. Another struggle was finding enough drivers and crews to fulfill our routes. As demand increased, so did the need for help.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m the owner of A Queen Creates. I make handmade accessories and more. I simply love creating and refurbishing things. You could call me an artsy fartsy kind of woman. I left my job in corporate to do what i love. I believe in doing what you’re passionate about so your soul is fed. The mindset and mentality that i have makes this journey a lot easier for the boys. This business has been a blessing for myself because although i love what i do, i wasn’t completely satisfied. I was looking for another opportunity i could be passionate about and pour into. And well, The Trash Boys is now something i hold dear to my heart. We absolutely LOVE what we do.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Creativity is a MUST! As a startup you have to think about how you will get the wheels turning. You have little to no budget, what are you going to do to turn a profit? How to we grow? Without creativity, nothing is really possible. With creativity, nothing is impossible.
