Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Hornacek.

Hi Edward, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve had a wood burning stove in my home for 23 years. One day I was cleaning my own chimney and a neighbor asked of I would clean his. He then told others that I cleaned chimneys and it eventually ecame a side business. Working as a Police Detective, I no longer wanted to work side police jobs. So, the more I learned about chimney maintenance and fire safety, the more effort I put into growing my small business. After obtaining business insurance and registering my company as an L.L.C,, I entered my business on Google and it grew from there. My customers help build my company to what it is today, by leaving 5 star reviews that captured the attention of the Better Business Bureau and later authorize accreditation.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The only struggles were during COVID 19 when the demand for my services became too much to handle. I had to schedule appointments out 4 months.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a chimney sweep as well as a fire safety consultant. The most important part of my job is educating people, especially first time home purchasers, fire safety tips in regards to fireplaces and wood burning stoves. I make a point of reminding people that they are purposely havimg a fire inside of their home and that requires a big responsibility. Alao, I am known for my clean work, honesty, and simple scheduling methods…”schedule by text”.

I’m most proud of the rapport I have with my customers. My reputation as an honest worker is well known. The sole proprietorship is the big thing that sets my business apart from others. My customers know they get personal accountability when I arrive. I give attention to detail for the purpose of fire safety. I also relay to customers any and all fire safety concerns.

As a sole proprietor, I am the only employee. It’s just me. I often recieve customer reviews that catch the eye of those searching for good quality work. I’ve had many customers tell me the main reason they called me was because of my reviews.
