Check Out Drew Colton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Colton

Hi Drew, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Drew Colton aka SKII music artist from Dayton OH.

Last year I overcame my biggest obstacle with trials & tribulations in my young life (23). Lost almost everything, car , quit job, love of my life & also made some bad decisions that lead me to lose my freedom.

All of those things pushed me to making music. I’ve had a previous pass from battle rapping in the 4th grade & recording 2-3 songs before I took it seriously.

My good friend Johnathan Caldwell aka Johnny Wok knew him since 9th grade. He was making music even before that but he really helped me a lot with creating and the process of recording so I give a lot of credit to him. He made me believe I could do this. Me and him came out with a mixtape series called “LIFE” the first series and the mixtape before “L2FE”.

At the beginning of the year I went on a 30 Day Grind which is basically locking in and getting off social media and really just bettering yourself overall in them 30 days.

During that time I was recording at home and getting everything off my chest.

Once I finished it I figured ima my first solo project “30 Day Grind” so I put all those song together and sat on them. During May and June I release a EP called “ 3 Pack “ and released my first music video with Supwockk the well known producer in Dayton.

In July I decided to go on another 30 Day Grind during that time I did the same thing in January.

After 5-6 songs I put the songs together from January and created my tracklist.

I decided to release on my birthday September 14 so it can really mean something. I recorded 2 Mic Drop, a WordPlay and 2 podcasts with MovesMedia. Shoutout JL real business man.

Now we here September 16 just got back from Atlanta celebrating my birthday and the release of “ 30 Day Grind” with family & friends.

So honestly I’m real grateful and blessed to be in the position I’m in today

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No it wasn’t smooth at all last year nowadays it’s a lot smoother for sure

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create music. I love creating honestly and I fell into music. I really enjoy putting my feelings behind the beat.

My most proud and best work is 30 Day Grind out on all platforms!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
