Today we’d like to introduce you to Divine Wilson.
Hi Divine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Where do I start!
Growing up, I always had a creative eye, doing poetry, painting, and arrange of different things. I come from a family of serial entrepreneurs. My grandfather was a businessman for that’s where I got the entrepreneurial spirit and began my career as a fashion buyer, which lead me to wanting to be more hands-on in the fashion world, where I became hairstylist. After graduating from Aveda, I worked as an assistant stylist for a top salon and worked my way up to having my own salon suite. Working as an entrepreneur solely on my own was a big risk and a learning experience. I learn that you really have to do your own marketing, budgeting, and build the customer experience. Everything falls on you.
I specialized in creating custom hair units, customize with color, cuts, and style. Product marketing on how to maintain the items. This is where I learn photography, for it was expensive to pay someone every time to when I needed to showcase a new product. I must say it was a skilled I enjoy, to take something and make it more appealing to the eye.
Over time I wanted something new and had a friend reach out to me about Real Estate and investments. For he had a short-term rental and needed help marketing the unit. This is where I got the idea of styling the rental for him. After taking photos and putting them on Airbnb. The feedback was Amazing, and the cash flow was endless.
From there, I knew I had something! Word of mouth lead me to where I am today, and I wanted to structure things into a business oppose to freelance.
This is where Honey N Brown Real Estate Photography was created, however, I knew I wanted to expand and brought my sister Mariah in to help me on this journey!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Hardship is inevitable when you’re going against the grain and pursuing a life of creative autonomy and making that your livelihood.
Life is a journey filled with lessons, hardships, heartaches, joys, celebrations, and special moments that will ultimately lead us to our destination, our purpose in life. The road will not always be smooth; in fact, throughout our travels, we will encounter many challenges. (I most certainly have)
Some challenges have test my courage, strengths, weaknesses, and faith. Along the way, I have stumble upon many obstacles but never gave up.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Divine and Mimi are the creative sibling duo behind Honey N Brown, a Columbus real estate photography team. The polish they present interior residential spaces with is second to none, with an editorial quality worthy of publication. Mimi and Divine naturally guide the eye through the room using lines, shapes, and forms that call one’s attention without fighting against how the furniture and other elements are laid out. And their use of HDR adds extra dynamic range into the highlights and shadows for a pleasing presentation of how light would appear to you.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My mother growing up in a single-family home, her sacrifice and relentless spirit. She is my biggest motivator and encourages me every day to push beyond what my eyes can see. Without her, I don’t believe I would be where I am now.
