Check Out Brianna Koehler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Koehler

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was pregnant with my first son, I would watch Anna Saccone’s weekly pregnancy updates on YouTube, and they were so helpful. When I was going back to work after the short 12 weeks of maternity leave, trying to navigate breastfeeding and how I’d pump in the office and bring breastmilk on the airplane, as I traveled regularly for work, I couldn’t find any YouTube videos, so I decided to make some to help other working moms navigate the transition back to work. And that’s how I became the first “working mom” on YouTube. Since then, I’ve grown my channel into a blog, an Instagram and Facebook community, published a best-selling cookbook, taught a YouTube Master course for women looking to start their own online brands, and continued to share my motherhood journey- 3 babies and a miscarriage and divorce later.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There was a LOT of figuring it out as you go- YouTube was so different back then. So it was a lot of trial and error and listening to my community about what they wanted to see and what would be most helpful.

And of course sharing your life through the ups and downs. It is so fun when things are exciting, and I love being able to look back at special moments that are all filmed- birthdays and vacations, and holiday memories. But it can be really hard when you’re going through those lows- losing my dad, losing a baby, getting a divorce, figuring out single motherhood all while having to smile on camera isn’t easy. But life has hard moments and seasons for everyone, and I am so thankful I’ve had the opportunity to work from home and have a flexible schedule for the kids, and to have such a beautiful community of women supporting women, so I can’t help but be grateful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love being an online content creator. I get to have fun, be creative, and make a work schedule that fits my family’s needs.

I’m really proud of how I’ve grown this business over the past 10 years. It went from a couple YouTube videos, to an entire community of women who support each other through all the journeys- motherhood, marriage and divorce, homemaking, mental health struggles, wellness, and more!

I think what sets me apart is that I was the first 9-5 working mom in a space that was originally stay at home moms, and I’ve been able to share all those different transitions. And then even sharing divorced mom content now is still relatively new in the YouTube space. And now with the relaunch of the podcast, I’m focusing fully on supporting women through divorce on that platform. So I just hope I can continue helping moms and women with whatever phase of the journey they’re on.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mom of course. She gave me life. Taught me to cook. Why I dedicated my cookbook to her.

My Gramma and Grampa. Anytime I need a babysitter or pet sitter so I can go to work travel, special events or meetings, they are always there.

My dad. He always believed in me, encouraged me, and made sure I knew that just because I was a woman, I had a place in business.

My three kids. My channel would have never started had I not been pregnant with Landon. And Presley and Hayden continued the journey. And those three are the reason why I work so hard and will do everything I can to ensure they have the best life possible. Being their mother is the better than I could have ever imagined.

My track coach Lisa- she helped me apply to colleges and has never stopped being a cheerleader for me in all my endeavors.

My ride or die friends who have gotten me through all the difficult seasons, and know all the behind the scenes and encourage me to never give up.

And God. He knew long before I ever did that YouTube was where I was meant to be, and He made sure I got here.
