Check Out Ashley Kline’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Kline.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Cleveland! As a kid, I was always creative and curious. Whether it was art, music, makeup, nails, or hair – I was always having my hands in something! Growing up, my style and my body shape always created problems with getting bullied in school. From middle school throughout high school, I was so insecure in my body. I had a lot of friends that were also bullied or just felt uncomfortable in their own skin. I hated hearing the way they spoke about themselves and quickly began to see that we were our own worst enemies. I quickly became passionate to let women see how beautiful they actually were and get them one step closer to feeling more beautiful in their own skin! I loved seeing my friends’ and sisters’ faces light up when I would do their hair, nails, or make up for a school dance! I loved it so much that when it came time to decide if I wanted to go to a career center while in high school, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I graduated high school and cosmetology school in 2012 and started working in the field that summer! I have grown so much through the past 10 years in my craft and it’s so awesome to see how far I have come! But I always tell everyone I have the best job ever because that middle school and high school girl is living out her dream! Since I graduated, I have worked for other spas and employers through that time, but I have been running Beauty By Ashley Kline on my own since May of 2021! I never thought I would be able to do something like this but it has been the most crazy yet rewarding and humbling year of my life. And now as an adult, I believe my outgoing, fun, and welcoming personality has brought me far since I have started. My clients start to feel like close friends and family, and I am always so honored when they trust me more and more with their lives and their stories. My services now even open the eyes of clients to their natural beauty by offering services that only enhance their beautiful natural features. My goal has been the same since the begin; no matter what size, shape, race, or age – you deserve to feel safe, beautiful, and loved. YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been this beautiful road to self-discovery. Other places I have worked have had really demanding hours and not many days off. I struggled to find a work-life balance for a long time. And with opening my own business this past year, that was a whole other can of worms I was never 100% prepared for. Full transparency, I have had ADHD since elementary school, and since opening my own business, I feel like it’s been through the roof! I never realized how difficult and overwhelming owning your own small business actually was. I have always heard “support local small-owned businesses” and tried to when I could. But now more than ever I fully understand why and try to as much as possible. You go from working a 9-5 to 24/7. You wear so many hats and juggle a hundred things at once. All of these responsibilities have given such a newfound respect for fellow small business owners! And since realizing that all of this has triggered my ADHD more than ever, I have found a new respect for being open and honest about how helpful therapy and medication has been on my life. I’ve seen the more I open up to my clients about this struggle, the more people have actually started seeking therapy and more likely to not shame themselves for being on medications for different things! Mental health care is the best type of self-care!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
It’s hard to say what I specialize in because I offer my favorite services to perform, and I strive to perform each service the way I would want it done! I offer sugaring hair removal which is a gentle, natural form of hair removal. It’s a mixture of sugar, water, and lemon juice. It will never tear your live skin, it’s never warmer then your body temperature and it is able to remove the hair from the follicle which is great for less hair growth and softer, smoother skin! I became super passionate about sugaring after I saw its amazing results on all types of hair removal. My main passion with it has been for facial sugaring. I have struggled with PCOS for many years now, and one of the terrible side effects from it is having very dark and thick facial hair. It was one of the things I was most insecure about. But because of sugaring, I have been able to help other women that struggle with PCOS to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin again! I have wonderful results that help thin out that hair and helped it become more and more patchy over time!

I have performed nail services since I have graduated and that’s what I have definitely grown the most in. Since the beginning, I have loved adding nail art to my manicures! I always laugh looking back to where I started with crooked lines and dotted manicures, to where I am now with really fun and creative designs that I obsess over and take a million photos of before my clients get to leave!

And my newfound love of almost three years now, lash lifts and brow laminations! I picked up these services right before Covid and cannot get enough of them! They both enhance the natural beauty of your lashes and brows without the permanency of micro blading or tattooing or the aftercare and fills of lash extensions!

I think what sets me aside from others is that I am honest and will never try to oversell you. I am very detail-oriented on all my services, especially the manicures! Which makes life very difficult for me because I can never get a manicure without wanting to take the tools in my own hands and do it differently. But I want everyone to be happy with their service and their results, and I think my hard work, honesty, and consistent work has brought me pretty far!

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I hope you know that no matter where you’re at in your life, that you are loved, and you are enough! Also, come and see me some time for a service! We will have a great time talking, laughing and you will for sure see pictures of my two dogs Maisy and Winston! And if you have a dog, even better! I want to see your pictures too!
