Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Keeling.
Hi Ann, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Focused on sophisticated design, quality, craftsmanship, and classic style, C R I S T O F O L I© is a sustainable direct-to-consumer (DTC) luxury accessory brand. Launching this month, C R I S T O F O L I’s first product is a limited-edition capsule collection of dog bandannas, hand-made in the U.S. from first-quality, designer upholstery fabrics – at Cincinnati’s Sew Valley. The collection is comprised of four designs, each available in three sizes (Small, Medium, and Large) to fit most dogs. Created on the premise that any pet accessory should be a personal style reflection of the pet parent, C R I S T O F O L I takes its design inspiration from Europe with its bold pattern combinations and European attention to detail — complete with a branded snap closure, rounded corner detail, branded apparel tag – presented in luxury packaging. C R I S T O F O L I bandanna designs are finished on the reverse with complimentary pattern and because they are made from designer upholstery fabrics, they are not only beautiful but are extremely durable and stain-resistant; and with proper care, will last for years to come.
C R I S T O F O L I will continue to introduce exclusive capsule collections of dog bandannas throughout 2020, for discerning pet parents, some of which will be designer collaborations. As the brand grows, other accessories for pets and home will be introduced.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We launched the brand at the start of covid — but that didn’t get in our way. Since it’s a direct-to-consumer brand (online) only it actually worked very well. Since then, we have done a number of markets and trunk shows as local boutiques — it really works best for people to be able to see our product — to understand the high quality and craftsmanship as well as all the details that make Cristofoli dog bandannas a luxury product.

As Cristofoli, the brand through which we market Cristofoli dog bandannas is my “side hustle”, my “day job” is running a boutique marketing communications firm called Cristofoli-Keeling, Inc. Based in Downtown Cincinnati, our clients include LaRosa’s, Comey & Shepherd Realtors, a number of professional service firms and start-ups.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Luxury goods are here to stay; it’s really a matter of tapping into the right audience and then communicating with relevancy and frequency.
