Hi Adam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My love for thrifting began at an early age with my grandfather who would often take us for rides to different flea markets. Combining this love and my passion for Cleveland sports, I created Thrift The Land. I began “thrifting the land” in 2020 due to losing my job during COVID. Since its founding, Thrift the Land has specialized in Cleveland sports attire from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Thrift the Land’s goal is to provide customers with vintage clothing and memorabilia nostalgia at competitive prices.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Thrift The Land all started out of adversity. Losing my job with no source of income, I resorted to something I enjoyed and used my social media knowledge to market myself and build a platform for selling clothes.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Most people don’t know that I’m a 6th Grade teacher at a school in inner-city Cleveland. Thrift The Land is my “side hustle” and what I spend all my free time doing outside of teaching. With weekends, breaks, and summers off, it really allows me the time to get out and source vintage items.
My passion for Cleveland sports is actually what drove me to move here from Allegany, NY. Being a diehard Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers fan, the hunt for finding vintage items is always exciting and keeps me going. I tell everyone, thrifting is like treasure hunting, you never know what you’ll find or where you’ll find it!
