Shaakira Molisho shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Shaakira , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
It would definitely have to be raising my daughter. Raising her has felt like raising little me. I’m so proud to be a mom and her mom to be exact. She’s so precious and joy to experience. She makes like that much sweeter.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Shaakira Molisho, and at my core I’m a woman who’s passionate about faith, family, and legacy. By profession I work in data and strategy, but my story and my brand are so much bigger than just my career. I’ve been building businesses in real estate, consulting, and content creation, and what makes my journey special is that I don’t believe in fitting into just one box. I love sharing the beauty of becoming, how I balance being a wife, mom, entrepreneur, and creative, all while keeping God at the center of it all. Right now I’m focused on growing my digital community, scaling a consulting group with my husband, and laying the foundation for our nonprofit that will give back globally. For me it’s all about alignment, creating a life of purpose, and inspiring others to know that they can build the life God has called them to live too.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I believed that something was wrong with me because people always called me scattered brained, all over the place, too hyper, and hard to understand. I thought being “too much” meant I needed to shrink or fit myself into a box. As I’ve grown, I’ve realized that what I was really carrying was being multi faceted, multi talented, and deeply creative. What once made me feel misunderstood is now the very thing that makes me special. I no longer see myself as scattered. I see myself as layered, full of ideas, and gifted with the ability to bring many different things to life.
Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yes, I remember a time someone truly listened to me, and it was my husband. From the very beginning he has had a way of hearing not just my words but my heart. Even when I didn’t know how to fully explain what I was feeling, he made space for me to process and reminded me that my voice mattered. He listens with patience and with love, and that has made me feel safe in a way I never experienced before. It is one of the things I cherish most about our marriage, knowing I have a partner who sees me, understands me, and takes the time to truly hear me.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. I don’t shy away from showing the real me. I’m not perfect or put together 24/7, and I’m at peace with that. What you see is truly who I am, and I’ve found freedom in embracing my authentic self.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Today I’m investing in building generational wealth, nurturing my marriage and family, and laying the foundation for businesses and projects that are bigger than me. I know the seeds I’m planting in real estate, my career, my digital brand, and our nonprofit may not fully show their return for 7 to 10 years, but I’m committed to the long game. I’m creating a life that will bless not only me but my children and generations after us.
