An Inspired Chat with Robert Morris of Hilliard, Ohio

We recently had the chance to connect with Robert Morris and have shared our conversation below.

Robert, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is a normal day like for you right now?
As a film production director there is nothing normal about my days, as each day varies dramatically depending on the project’s phase, but the core role remains the same: As I oversee all business, financial, and logistical aspects of a film to ensure the director’s creative vision is realized, within budget and on time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Robert Morris ( AKA-Murder face). I have worked on over 35 films so far. with my collaboration with Alysm films. I have done a lot of short films as well as full features. I am A producer, director, and actor born in Hilliard, Ohio. I specialize in suspense, drama, and horror films. I have a deep voice, and I have heard people say that it sounds like “the voice of God”.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I felt silenced or misunderstood.
For some reason I believed I didn’t matter. But over time, I come to realize that my voice is valuable and worthy of being heard.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
The path I took in my life isn’t a specific career stage, but rather a profound personal transformation that many successful artists, including us filmmakers, experience after weathering life’s difficulties. By moving past my need for perfection, I was able to embrace my vulnerability and use my unique perspective to create more profound and resonant art.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
My public persona is my brand. It helps me attract more roles, secure endorsement deals, and garner public recognition.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Well. I hope people remember the full range of my work, not just one popular role. I want to be seen as a versatile performer who took risks and tackled a wide variety of characters.
