Lisa, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity matters most to me because it’s the foundation of trust in every relationship. Personally, it means showing up with honesty, doing the right thing even when no one is watching, and staying true to my values no matter the circumstances. In business, it’s non-negotiable – it guides how I lead, serve my clients, and represent my brand. Intelligence and energy are valuable, but without integrity, they can be misused. Integrity is the compass that guides my work and the standard I hold myself to every day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the Founder and CEO of Just For The Occasion, LLC®, a premier event planning and floral design company based in Columbus, Ohio. We are known for transforming ordinary gatherings into extraordinary experiences. Guided by a passion for beauty, intention, and flawless execution, we specialize in social, corporate, and non-profit events – each thoughtfully designed to reflect our clients’ unique personality and style.

What sets us apart is our holistic approach to bringing events to life. We don’t just plan or design – we curate the entire experience from start to finish. With roots in catering and expertise in floral and event design, we offer a one-stop solution that harmonizes every element under one cohesive, creative vision. From menu planning to vendor sourcing to in-house floral production, we simplify the process while amplifying the impact.

What we’re most proud of, though, is the feeling we leave behind. Our events are more than just beautifully styled – they’re filled with joy, connection, and intention. Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one I have with my mother.
She has been my biggest cheerleader – the kind of mother who wanted nothing but the best for me academically, personally, and professionally. From an early age, she poured into me confidence, self-worth, and the belief that nothing was impossible. She challenged me to rise above mediocrity and pursue nothing less than excellence.

She encouraged me to explore and express myself – whether it was through the arts, modeling, or other creative outlets. Those experiences weren’t just activities, they were stepping stones that helped me uncover my natural gifts. Over time, I learned how to refine those talents and connect them to purpose.

That foundation of confidence, excellence, and creativity lives at the heart of Just for the Occasion, LLC®. As an event planner and floral designer, I draw on those early lessons every day – bringing bold ideas to life with thoughtfulness, artistry, and intention. The values of integrity, hard work, and high standards are woven into every client experience and creative decision.

Her influence shaped not only the woman I’ve become, but also the business I’ve built – one grounded in purpose, fueled by passion, and rooted in integrity.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are more than enough – exactly as you are.

There will be moments when doubt creeps in, when imposter syndrome whispers that you don’t belong or aren’t ready. Everything you need is already within you. You are worthy of every opportunity that comes your way. Never shrink to fit into spaces you were meant to lead. Your creativity has purpose. You were born to soar.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. The public version of me is the real me.

What you see is who I am – whether I’m working with a client, showing up in my community, or behind the scenes with friends and family. I lead with authenticity, show up with honesty, and strive to be consistent in my words, actions, and values. There’s no version of me that changes depending on the room – I bring my full, true self to every space I step into.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when my day begins with intention and reflection, often through a morning devotional that helps me center myself and approach challenges with calm and clarity. Having a clear plan allows me to prioritize what matters most, move through tasks with purpose, and create space to think, create, and lead well.
