Meet Jasmine Viola

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Viola.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I graduated from Elyria High School class of 2010 (Fluker at the time). I went on to Bowling Green State University where I got my bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree I spent time working in Law Enforcement and the local common pleas court system.

I went on to complete four Master’s degree concentrations in Crime Analysis, Criminal Behavior, Justice Administration, and Homeland Security. During that period, the cannabis industry was introduced to the State of Ohio. I was hired as a General Manager for a dispensary. I worked my way up to now the Director of Operational Compliance & Engagement

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I faced quite a few struggles, my Dad and brother passed away. During that period I did a lot of self-reflecting and spiritual healing. I recently welcomed a new baby in April 2022 and suffered from postpartum depression. None of these things were easy but God told me that he would never leave my side. I stay grounded in the fact that faith doesn’t mean I don’t get afraid. Faith means that I never let fear stop me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I oversee cannabis dispensaries across the country. My job includes personnel development, creating standard operating procedures, and compliance adherence. What sets me apart from others is my heart. I truly want us all to win. I take every opportunity to present a space for success.

Every title I have ever held involved giving back to other people. I find joy in the smiles of others around me. Over the last year, I have designed more than 8 cannabis courses for 3 Universities/Colleges! The cannabis field is so new and exciting. Many people are intrigued by the growing industry

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Eric Thomas is amazing! His work is extremely powerful. I also enjoy listening to Pastor Michael Todd.
