Meet Ivan Mendez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan Mendez.

Hi Ivan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story begins in Riverside CA. kind of more fell into what I do. Ever since high school always found me around people in the entertainment industry, in some shape or form. started in elementary for me taking part in school plays and talent shows then in high school it was DJs. Fast forward to the present, having the pleasure of being part of an independent label/rap group NEW WEST ASSOCIATION put together by HARD HEAD whom I had the pleasure of meeting during my time on Empire radio. FM. been riding with NEW WEST ASSOCIATION since then.

I do have HTM Customz which involves around designing custom stickers, clothing & apparel, business cards, event flyers, QR codes, etc to add more to the plate also with RVE Entertainment, a DJ service that serves southern California that my close personal friend DJ Luie vibes started to handle his overflow of bookings lol. For the time in-between it was either working going to school or a combination of both.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ll be lying if I said yes but the reality is it’s never a smooth ride sure along the way it has its moments the begging is usually always the ruffest. Through my voyage pun intended lol. Not that there aren’t any tuff spots after the beginning there will always be rough roads but that just comes with the territory.

The main struggle is putting the correct team together and that is going to be the ruffest part.  The other section is this one that should read. It goes back to my childhood my older brother was the 1st person to say “you got a good heart”.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That’s a good question lol. I’ve been asked on occasions how I remain humble and have a positive attitude in the darkest n negative situations. It goes back to my childhood my older was the 1st person to say “you got a good heart” when I was younger it didn’t make no sense as I got older it started to click.
