Life & Work with Sara Negron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Negron.

Hi Sara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Everyone knows me as SIN (which are my initials) growing up art was always my thing but never did I think I’d be doing makeup artistry full time.  I worked doing quality control for about 10 years when I finally decided it was time for a change. I completed cosmetology school and shortly after realized I hated doing the hair portion of it. While in school, I would get approached by clients inquiring about my makeup, and that’s when it all began to unfold. No experience prior, no mentor, just self-taught and lots of trial and error. Word of mouth is magical! 90% of my clients had either saw my work at weddings or heard from someone that I did makeup. After working at a salon, I picked up a gig working for MAC cosmetics and was with them for about 2.5 years or so. Even though it was more retail than artistry, I quickly became one of the most sought-after artists at the counter. Soon after, I was offered the role of counter-manager, but I had other plans. My sister-in-law and I decided to take a leap of faith and opened an intimate 3 chair salon in Cleveland back in 2013. Our clientele quickly escalated which required us to move to a bigger location in Fairview Park, Ohio. I have put in the work and have been hired to do numerous makeup events and weddings in and out of Ohio. I am passionate about brow shaping, but Bridal artistry is my niche. I love seeing my client’s reaction when I hand them the mirror at the end of their glam session. I have a lash line which has done very well, and quite a few other projects I’m currently working on. I have a talented team for bridal work, and I’m also expanding. If you have what it takes shoot me an email!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is never smooth sailing. The long extensive hours, the traveling, and adapting to all sorts of different scenarios can definitely be overwhelming. You have to have a good support system on your side and be prepared to put in the work! I’m a firm believer of work hard play hard.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed cosmetologist with 10 + years in the industry. If I had to choose 2 things I’m known for it would definitely be my eyebrow work and flawless skin. In the years of building my career, I been fortunate enough to work with major cosmetic brands like Mac, Dior, urban decay and others which has given me the extensive product knowledge to take my makeup game to the next level. My specialty is soft glam bridal looks. That flawless immaculate skin that captures everyone’s attention. My work has been published in newspapers, magazines, and many online platforms. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail as well as my punctuality and customer service skills.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My day one my clients whom are very supportive and a huge part of my career because they have followed me and cheered me on from the very beginning when I was clueless and didn’t know much of what I was doing. My sister-in-law glamhairbymarie inspires me on the daily and might not even know it lol we went to cos school together and ended up achieving so much in so little time by just keeping each other motivated and staying focused.
