Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Pryll.
Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My love for photography started when I was in high school! I had been gifted a small point-and-shoot digital camera that I carried everywhere. I signed up to take a photography class at my high school, and I learned all about film and digital photography there. I dreamed of being able to be a photographer one day. As life went on, I, unfortunately, let photography fall to the wayside. I rediscovered my passion about 6 years ago and have not given up ever since! At first, I dabbled in all kinds of different photography but quickly discovered that my passion was in weddings and couples’ photography. I was able to make my dream happen and quit my job just over 1 year ago to become a full-time wedding photographer!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely a struggle. I had to give up a lot of time with my friends and family to build my business and work on my dream while I was also working another full-time job. There were a lot of times that I wondered if it was doing to be worth it, and I’m so glad I stuck it out because now I have my dream job, and I get to make my own schedule and spend more time with my friends and family than I ever did before!
We’ve been impressed with Megan Pryll Photography, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in wedding and couples’ photography! I’m known for my bright, true-to-color style and for capturing the connection between my couples. I really take the time to get to know each couple that I work with so that they are super comfortable, and our sessions are really fun because of that!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Cincinnati is a great city that has so much to offer! We have a ton of amazing backdrops for photos. There really isn’t anything not to love. If you want an awesome city vibe, we have that for you! Head downtown to Smale Park or to OTR, and you can get amazing photos that way. Want more of a nature vibe? Cincinnati has a ton of amazing parks to explore. I also love all of the historical buildings we have here. When I am not taking pictures, I love to visit the many museums we have.
