Daily Inspiration: Meet Lady Inferno Diamond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Inferno Diamond.

Hi Lady, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey in drag was one that I honestly never expected. In fact, my mom used to ask me are you gonna dress up like a girl. I would get mad at her and angrily respond “no why would I wanna do that “? Even though I know, she’d be nothing but supportive.

I had watched drag race and been to shows but never really thought I could do it. I had a friend that did makeup and he invited me over to play in make-up I did terrible but from that moment forward drag had me for the rest of my life!! I kept practicing my makeup and Nov 2, 2018 (still busted) I went out my first night and Lady Inferno Diamond’s flame was ignited.

I’ve been in the military for almost 6 years.

In 2019 I went on a deployment to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. It was a life-changing experience and definitely made me appreciate things back home more. I missed drag terribly and I was hungry for it I wanted to return home and elevate my drag.

When I returned home in October of 2020, I started performing again as much as I could. I got a bunch of new wigs and costumes and started traveling. I’ve performed in Pittsburgh so much it’s like a second home. I performed in Ft. Lauderdale of December 21.

In 2022 I had decided that I was ready to enter the world of pageantry. I competed in my first pageant on. March 13th, 2022, I ran for the title of Miss Ohio All-Star Newcomer. I was first alternate and I won the evening gown category. I was a little discouraged and beat up on myself a bit. Two weeks later I competed again for another tittle. I’m happy to say I am the current reigning Miss Tri-State All-Star Newcomer!

I’m not sure where my journey in drag will take me next but I will say I’m excited for the ride.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I believe I’ve had a smooth experience so far. Drag is an interesting world to navigate the person who controls how far you go essentially is you. I tend to try and stay out of drama and I get along with just about everyone. My journey may be smooth but it that doesn’t mean it’s been easy. I have traveled 100s of miles just to perform on a stage. I went without to buy new drag. I’ve been talked about and torn down. I’ve done many bookings for free just to get my name out there. With all that being said I wouldn’t take any of it back and I am very blessed and thankful for every opportunity I’ve had, person I’ve met, and stage I’ve been able to grace.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am Lady Inferno Diamond. I have been a drag queen for almost 4 years. When it comes to performing, I try not to put myself in a box. So, I don’t really think I specialize in anyone category when it comes to drag. I will say I love to perform high-energy numbers and do stunts like kicks, splits, and dips. I would have to say my two biggest achievements so far have been performing in Ft. Lauderdale and achieving the title of Miss Tri-State All-Star Newcomer 2022!!! I feel like my drive, determination, and hunger is what really makes me who I am. I am Lady Inferno Diamond the self-proclaimed Army Barbie.

What matters most to you? Why?
The thing that matters most to me is making a lasting impression. When I am no longer here on this earth, I want people to remember me for who I was and how I made them feel. That’s why every time I perform whether for a crowd of 3 or a crowd of 500, I always put on a show and leave my heart on the stage!
