Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Tullis.
Hi Caroline, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my blog my freshman year of college. Fashion and writing have always been two of my biggest passions, so it was an opportunity to combine the two into one hobby. Sometimes I look back and wish I hadn’t started at the time since I still had so much about myself to learn about, but I definitely believe it was part of God’s plan for my life in order to use the passions He’s given me!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would love to say it’s been smooth, but I’d be lying if I did 😂 Comparison is something that I’ve always struggled with big time as a creative, especially in this day of age with social media. Though it’s all just highlight reels and we’re not seeing what’s behind the scenes in other people’s lives, it can still be hard to see other people’s content without getting envious. I also struggle with periods of burnout and not feeling creative, which honestly has been happening more frequently lately. Though I get hard on myself when I notice that I’m letting these struggles get the best me, it’s given me opportunities to grow more as a person and to value rest. I’ve gotten some of my best ideas for content when I’m not constantly trying to force myself to make something!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Aside from blogging and social media, I’m a personal stylist for Stitch Fix. I went to Kent State University with a degree in fashion merchandising, and one of my professors actually works for them which is how I was able to find out how to apply for a job. I love it because putting together outfits and helping clients find styles that they feel confident in is right down my alley!
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One of my Tweets from Twitter was read by Jimmy Fallon on his show during the “Hashtags” segment a couple years ago. If you go on YouTube and find “Hashtags: #SpringRaps with Sugarhill Gang and The Roots”, mine is the second one!
