Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Gann.
Hi Tina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Years ago, I was overwhelmed, over-scheduled, and drowning in clutter. I was in need of a change. An overseas move and living out of a suitcase for 3 months made me realize how very little I needed to live. I loved not being a slave to my stuff. It was time to take charge of my space and my life.
As we settled into our new home, it was my goal to go through each item and truly ask if I needed it or if it would help me live the life I wanted. For the first time ever, I had a clutter-free home. Living clutter-free opened up other avenues to clear and simplify my life.
When I started simplifying, being more intentional with my space and with all of the things that were in it, it brought so much peace, calm, and clarity. Not only to my home but to my whole life. I wanted to shout it from the rooftops!
Shortly thereafter, I stumbled upon a professional organizer’s Instagram account and immediately knew that was what I wanted to do! Helping others find simplicity in their homes and setting up organized systems in a beautiful way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been a lot of stop-and-go for Simply Organized with Tina.
I started my business at the end of 2019, right before the pandemic. I was catching speed, word of mouth was spreading in the community about my services, when everything came to a stop.
We lived in Maryland at the time. Months went by, and finally, I was able to start organizing for people again.
It slowly picked up again, and then it was time to move.
We moved to Dayton, Ohio in 2021. It was a process sharing what I had to offer to the community.
As an Air Force wife, we will have many more moves to come, and this will continue to be a challenge as a small business owner.

I am an Air Force spouse with many personal experiences downsizing, moving, space planning, setting up and unpacking, and making a new home and space all come together in a functional and beautiful way.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
There are many local networking events for businesses. I have found Facebook to be a wonderful tool to connect to the community and networking groups in the area. Getting out into the community and not being shy to bring up my business in conversation with people goes a long way to spreading the word. Collaborating and supporting other local and small businesses really brings a sense of community.
