Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Guyton.
Brittany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
This particular dream came about by taking a coding class and creating a website. I really loved the idea of my own website so I went forward with it. I was thinking of a way to make a profit from a website and thought I could sell clothes. That turned into me wanting to have my own clothing company. It didn’t start the way I thought but once I decided to do it by myself, I formulated and plan. I work on my plan for three months and did my first photo shoot a month later. I did a year of promotions and then released my official collection in March of 2017. I dropped 56 collections in 3 and a half years. I took some time off and came back in 2020 with new and fresh ideas and a better plan. I got here with all the support and help from people I network with and shoot with. Different photographers and models. Going to events around Akron and reaching out to people outside of Akron. I did a collaboration with a brand called lion soul from Houston Texas, I did a collaboration photo shoot with a band from California, and did a fashion show in Chicago all low-key and on my own. I meet my friend Adonis who models everything at a showcase he bought a hat we exchange info and I asked him to shoot. He introduced me to his friend mike who just started getting into photography and we have been shooting for 3 years straight. They really help provide the scene for Blvck Leevs
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been smooth but getting out there and collaborating has been very successful. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like the brand. Funding my brand considering we release a new collection every month and paying for photo shoots and sending clothes for marketing has been a challenge but I always prevailed because I see the bigger picture and people really started catching on to the brand though still small

Blvck Leevs Brand is more than just another clothing brand. Blvck Leevs is about the dreamer and creator in all of us. It’s about being out true selves while dreaming and creating. We have a male and female line the male line is more prominent than the female for now. We release apparel every month. We don’t restock on anything and everything is either one of one or only 2-3 made. We do mostly embroidery and my own quotes and thoughts I Come across in life. What sets us apart is the authenticity without the hype. The saying catch people’s eyes and they always wonder what does it mean? I’m proud that the brand is doing everything I created it to be. We offer a chance for you to still be you with our fashion with a tiny hint of wonder.
What does success mean to you?
A commitment to a plan. If you commit yourself to your plan and do everything that you could ever do to achieve it whether you make money or “make” then you are successful. As long as you don’t give up
