Meet Hallee Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hallee Smith.

Hi Hallee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Coming up on the end of my college career, I realized corporate American didn’t interest me after delivering, and winning, a public speaking competition at a sales conference. I decided instead to continue doing freelance graphic design and marketing upon graduation. When Covid hit, I lost all of my clients and was forced to make a decision: go all-in on starting a business, or look for a corporate job. I decided to go all-in on starting my business, and in the meantime, I began posting on YouTube and TikTok for fun. That summer (2020), my TikTok account took off and I gained 1 million followers in the span of 6 months. In January 2021, my YouTube account also took off where I now have 515k subscribers. Since then, I have been working to grow my business, Hallee Media & Design, hand-in-hand with my accounts. I’ve been able to experiment with many different types of work within my business (social media management, photography, videography, social media consulting, etc.) One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in the process is to allow yourself the time and space to explore your interests and find what you truly want to do. Be intentional. Pursue your passions. I’ve also learned the importance of building community. I call my community “Hal’s Pals” and my mission is to inspire others to follow their heart and live their lives with intention. I recently started a podcast called the passion project for multi-passionate creatives.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Losing my clients, trusting myself, learning to be disciplined when motivation is low, learning to care for myself and my mind first to better serve others, taking breaks and hitting burnout, dealing with anxiety around social media/living up to a set standard, managing my mental health and avoiding burnout

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Videography, content creation, and storytelling. I like to tell a story with my videos and create content that makes people feel happy and inspired. I’m most known for my “Going to Starbucks and Dunkin until someone guesses my name right” and “ordering food/drinks inspired by my outfit” series on TikTok and YouTube. I am a content creator.
