Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduating from Penn State, I moved to Hoboken, NJ where I was a teacher for 8 years. After I got my Masters in Early Childhood development, I landed my dream job as a Master Teacher within our district. I loved my life in Hoboken with my husband and daughter, Everly! Then, God had different plans for my life.
We up and moved for a job change for my husband and to be closer to his family. The transition was hard but I slowly found my footing and after being a stay-at-home mom to my then 2 amazing kids, knew I wanted to take a chance and start my own business! I have always been extremely interested in skin care and knew entrepreneurship was in my blood (as all of my family members are business owners).
I quickly met Molly Bower who had Oasis Face Bar down on Gay Street at the time and she was looking to expand. Everything went fast from there! My husband, Kids and I were sitting at Deweys in downtown Worthington when we saw the “for rent” sign and immediately felt like it was the perfect space. We opened on a very low budget and did a lot of the renovations ourselves. It truly is your small-town facial bar!
Fun Fact: I found out I was pregnant with my third baby, Ada, the week we launched! (No, it was definitely not planned but a major blessing to our family)
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha, NO.
I think every small business owner would agree that it is never a smooth road! There has been a lot of sleepless nights of wondering if the decisions (big and small) that I was making were the right ones. Managing a team is also one of the hardest parts of expanding. The decisions of where to give and where your boundaries are. Not to also forget, the pandemic hit about 6 months after we opened. Those struggles were ones I never even thought about.
Thankfully, the support we have received has been that of patience, understanding, and love. Our clients, the heart of our team members that we hire, and our community make our business great! We are certainly not perfect and make mistakes but the experience and Customer Service is everything to me.

I also love that we can provide a different experience and environment for Estheticians. With our open concept and upbeat yet relaxing vibe, Estheticians can grow and learn together in a team-based environment.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
To not be afraid to take a risk and to do it fast! Our at-home facial boxes were born during the pandemic and still are thriving today. When we rolled those out we weren’t completely ready but knew we had to do something to support our team. All proceeds for them when to our Estheticians during that time
