Daily Inspiration: Meet Haley Withrow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haley Withrow. 

Haley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi y’all! I’m Haley, I am the owner of Haley Douglas Photography! I started being looking into photography after I realized I wanted to freeze time in my own personal life! Growing up I wanted to be a cosmetologist and that was it. Fortunately for my dreams at the time, I graduated from Paul Mitchell when I was 19! That year also happened to be the same year my dad passed away from a motorcycle accident, which HIT HARD. After that happened, I realized photographs were the only thing that truly freezes time. I was able to use those photographs of my dad and our memories together to truly get through losing a parent. That happened in 2014 which made me start to get interested in how I could help others in life. I became a pre-school teacher to help shape minds which I loved but it wasn’t my true passion! I wanted to help bring joy to others, create memories and freeze time for them. Around 2019 I truly went for it and started my photography business. That’s where Haley Douglas Photography comes from. Haley is my first name, Douglas is my dads! He was my absolute best friend so it only made sense. After years of being a teacher and photographer, I was able to go full-time with my business in March 2022! Yay! I also have been blessed with also being able to travel worldwide for photography too which has been amazing! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road for me. From personal struggles of having my life flipped upside down. Also, funding for newer equipment and gear was a big obstacle. It took me a bit to get to where I am but I am so happy to be here!! I learned that was my journey for a reason and I just had to embrace it. I work so hard because failure is not an option for me! 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a business owner and photographer! I own Haley Douglas Photography! I specialize in portraiture such as weddings, couples, boudoir, maternity, seniors, any life milestones really! I’m most proud of making my clients experience more than just getting photos done! I am seriously your biggest cheerleader in life! I just want to make people feel amazing about themselves and truly get to see the light they bring when they are in the room! Also, building from the ground up and creating special bonds with every one of my clients has been such an amazing experience! 

I think what sets me apart from others is that I truly connect with everyone and we just get to have such a fun vibe our whole session! During my sessions, its more than just posing! It’s laughs and memories you make while getting these sessions done. Y’all.. we seriously have so much fun! I am also super laid back so I get to sneak attack you with candid photos in your gallery that you didn’t know was captured during any madness happening! I get the lifestyle shots, the poses, the raw emotions, I get everything. My clients typically come back for each of their life milestones so I am able to grow with them as well! I truly take every session I photograph to heart. I want all of my clients to be able to look back at their session and feel like I was able to freeze time for them during such an amazing time in their life. I also strive on giving them a confidence boost! I just truly love to get to know my clients and capture them in their natural glowing light that everyone else sees by pulling their personalities out! 

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
The saying is true, “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life!” If you have a passion, go for it! Seriously y’all, if I can do it, you can do it! I can’t wait to see you thrive! Also, just be kind. This life is wild but if you continue to keep finding joy in everyday life and share that joy with others, you will get through anything! You may also be able to change someone life that day.
