Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Trapp.
Hi Lindsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up with a very creative mother. She was always crafting, taking photos and videos of me and my brother, and always down to take us on adventures around our beautiful southern home. And she hasn’t changed. My mom and dad bought me my first digital camera for Christmas when I was probably 8 or so. And I’ve forgotten what time was like before that.
Throughout school and especially high school, I was known as the photo girl, the social media girl. I was 1000% never paying attention to anything being taught in the classroom since I was constantly daydreaming up ideas in my head of just how creative I could get when I got back home. Soon enough, college came around and I began to realize that in order to live my life to the fullest and enjoy every minute of it that I can, I have to start my own business. I knew I needed to be my own boss.
I switch colleges a few times, have no idea where I’m really headed when people begin to ask me to take their senior photos. In my head I was like – “You’re seriously going to pay me for something I would literally do in my own time for fun?!” What a dream. I still think about this moment, when I thought it was too good to be true. It still feels that way, but God knew this was the plan for my life. That’s how I know it’s real.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Moving from Charlotte, NC over the summer to Cincinnati was tough, clientele-wise. I had to leave all of my regular peeps behind and completely start over in new uncharted territory. I had to succumb to TIKTOK trends! Ew! But I will say that I have a newfound respect for full-time social media content creators, it’s insanely hard to stay relevant and keep up to date on socials.
I am absolutely blessed with new clients that I’ve met here in Cincy. And I hope to continue growing my business throughout Ohio and Kentucky!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love photographing many things. From weddings to boudoir to special brands… I am a strong advocate against the new trendy term “niche down”. I say life is too short to not do whatever you want and love with your business. Therefore, I’ll continue to do allll the shoots.
In college, when I was confused and hated sitting through courses that I absolutely knew I wouldn’t remember or carry with me in the real world, I found myself starting a travel blog. I’d take small trips and add my photos to the blogs that probably zero people saw. I didn’t care about that though, because I was doing what I absolutely loved. Over the past few years, I have focused on growing my business on social media, but also physically. I have been able to see some of the prettiest sights in the world, and I still have the biggest bucket list ever. But there’s one specific place over the last decade that I have grown a true love for, that place is Hawaii. The greenery, the people, and the warmth and beauty of it all sets my creative soul on fire. I have met some amazing people through travel, and I will continue to encourage anyone who listens to travel as much as they can.
Though I should note: ya girl still got her degree. Will she use it? Hard pass.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My mom and I are so similar that it scares me yet brings me such peace. She taught me to appreciate capturing moments in time, being in nature, and to trust in God through each and every high and low. In college when I was struggling with knowing what I was going to do with my life and where I’d go next, she would pray with me and reassure me that I have a purpose in this life. She definitely knew who I was going to be before I did. I would 0% be anywhere close to where I am with this business without her and my dad’s help and encouragement. Don’t get me wrong though, she taught me to buy my own equipment reaaaaal young. Like, bye bye piggy bank.
