Life & Work with Bundy Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bundy Smith.

Hi Bundy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started making music freshman year of high school, that includes songwriting, production, and engineering. Senior year I started taking music serious, I would skip my 2-hour art class to go to the computer lab to work on my first mixtape. A few years later I started a rap group called “Lost Avenue” we got a nice buzz around upper Ohio. In 2016 after the group went our separate ways, I took a few years off to work on producing and engineering. In 2020 I released my first solo album titled “Pretty in the Night Sky” and also an Ep “Sun Behind the Trees” gaining over 50,00 plays. in 2021 I released another Ep titled In the Meantime, and I am currently working an Ep titled “4 My Real Fans” Releasing April 27th.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like a lot of other artists, I struggle with depression and dealing with the everyday problems of being a up and coming artist while trying maintain relationships. It has not been smooth road from dealing with other artist and musicians who aren’t who they say and also that make promises they don’t keep. I think people fail to realize how expensive it is to be an artist and how much time you spend away from family and friends.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a singer-songwriter, rapper, producer that specializes in the ability to do everything myself. I’m known for being able to do whatever a song needs whether it be rap a verse, sing a hook, and also producing the beats as well. I think what sets me apart is that I have my own sound, I don’t sound like any other artist nor do I try to.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I give my late grandmother a lot of credit for believing in me, she would always say “keep making tapes’ I think in her own way she was saying keep making music, and don’t stop. My art teacher in high school for letting me skip classes and projects so I could work on music. My mother and father for allowing me to make music at high volumes for hours upon hours. I would like to give credit to people who support my music, all of my friends and family because I know the absence that being a musician can create.
