Life & Work with Kyle Shaw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Shaw. 

Hi Kyle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My journey started on the back porch of my mom’s house. I had just undergone some very traumatic changes in my life which included losing a very important person in my life to a drug overdose, leaving a toxic relationship, and was having panic attacks once a week at my job at the time. Needless to say, I was lost I felt like my life had no purpose and it was quickly tearing me down. Luckily with a very important conversation with my hero and my mentor (My Mom) she convinced me to do something for myself and take an acting class like I always talked about. So, I signed up for my first course and the rest is history… I skipped completely over dipping my toes into taking a complete dive into the acting world. From that point on everything revolved around being a better actor no matter what it takes. That’s what I credit my success so far in this industry my will to constantly progress and always remain a student in a constantly changing industry. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has it its smooth moments and it has it rough moments. One thing I’ve learned to realize is living an actor’s life is very different than a lot of different professions your phone can be blowing up one week then nothing for the next month. Thats when it can get tough if you’re not careful the feelings of self-doubt can creep there way inside you but you cannot let that happen. I’ve made peace with the fact that this road will never be smooth all the way through but no matter what happens my hands are still firmly gripped on the wheel continuing to drive through whatever comes my way. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an Actor, I most specify in the film area but I do dabble in some commercial work when the opportunity approaches itself. Most People know me as “Jason” from The Female Hustler but I have done plenty of other projects as well that range from short films to tv shows. That’s also one of things I’m most proud of being able to work with so many talented people will give me great memories that will continue to stick with me for my whole life. I’d says what sets me apart is my ability to sell a whole brand. If you follow me through my journey, you’re going to get more than just great acting moments you’re going to get the whole package. 

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Just Work hard, take classes, constantly network, and never be afraid to fail.
