Community Highlights: Meet Angela Clark of Aniops

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Clark.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2018 most of the domestic airlines banned a significant amount of dog/cat breeds due to one of them accidentally putting a French bulldog in overhead storage resulting in its death. You would not think it, but thousands of Americans travel with their pets and relocate with pets per year. Once the ban was in effect people who were relocating were no longer able to fly most dog and cat breeds cargo or in cabin domestically… My sister Lindsey and I started a ground domestic company that quickly had a high demand… My sister wanted to go the direction of international relocation while I still saw problem without resolution that needed to be addressed. Pet relocation within the United States for Pet Parents and International Animal Relocation companies. I sat down with my partner Jesse Miller who used to be tasked with relocation of dignitaries and other high-profile humans and Aniops short for “Animal Operations“ was born…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To say a road or van full of animals traveling all over the USA was bumpy would be an understatement. We travel with a lot of baby and elderly animals which like people can have more than their share of needs. Animals need continues access to water and small dogs or cats need food and supplements to maintain blood sugar or can become hyperglycemic. Their crates cleaned every 4-6 hours and medication given. On top of that our drivers are dealing with weather variations and we have the normal worried pet parents to update. We have been snowed in pulled out by the Amish and a team of their horses as well as the occasional deer vs car blazing wildfire and occasional tornado warnings…We also guarantee pets delivered in 4 days or less which has enormous time restraints… We track our vehicles GPS and have temperature control systems in place which have helped us to evolve. Creating a system unlike any other domestic transport company.

As you know, we’re big fans of Aniops Inc. ”All things Animal“. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Aniops is a one-of-a-kind Animal Relocation Company. We handle “All things Animal“ We specialize in relocation but above everything connection and care. Animals are put first and all are treated as a priority package from A-Z. We know they are your family members and treat them like ours. Their health is screened prior to departure and monitored the entire journey with dash cameras, temperature control, GPS location, and animal CPR/ First aid trainer drivers. All of our team has extensive animal experience above and beyond animal lovers. We offer 24/7 dispatch service during your pets travel for updates and information. We are most proud of our reputation we have amazing reviews from real clients who are beyond happy. We are also proud of our results we deliver health animals to their homes in record times… it’s always about the animals and they are always so grateful

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
For this field, I would have to say real animal experience, reliability, honesty and a strong team. You have to have experience with animal care. There is a difference between an animal lover and somebody who is experienced with animals. It’s always best if you have both.

I have turned down animal lovers for jobs because they lack the knowledge to care for an animal who is in duress. Prevention is always best and if a person cannot recognize the warning signs of an animal that needs help how can they help them or prevent any escalation with the issue at hand.

Reliability is equally detrimental because people are depending on you to get their animals home or to an international airport on time for flights. Delays can set back international travel weeks which affects the animals and people involved. New exams must be done sometimes import permits and CDC permits as well. If you’re on time, you’re late; and if you’re early, you’re on time.

You also have to be able to anticipate issues with travel to prevent delays with the ability to adapt and overcome as the only consistent in this industry is change.

Honesty is very important because we have only a small amount of control over life and weather as well as traffic and we are dealing with all of this regularly. It’s very important to be honest and upfront when you are delayed or issues arise. Most humans have had their fair share of mishaps and can understand outside elements are in effect.

Last but one of the most important is a strong team. You are dealing with more than one animal at a time attached to one or more people. You need a great team that loves what they do and it will translate through their work. This is an industry of love care and compassion choose a team this resonates with… I am only as strong as my team and I have the very best.
