Life & Work with Ora Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ora Daniels.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey began in 2014. I hosted a charity event and needed a favor for the tables. Our theme was circus so I thought about something that would match the theme. I researched and found these really pretty purple apples which exactly matched our theme. I made 70-80 of these. They did not look anything near the quality that they do today but, I did receive inquiries for future orders. I began taking orders and vending at markets around the city. Markets have definitely catapulted me into the space I’m in today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This definitely has not been an easy road. I’ve had lots of fumbles. The majority of the issues happened because I do a lot of custom work and it is just me fulfilling the orders. I also had difficulties scaling to do larger markets and weddings. Now I’m pretty seasoned and able to complete very large requests.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in candied apples and treats. I’m known for my custom work. I can customize candied apples, chocolate-covered strawberries or any treat. My products are outside of the box desserts.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Doing what you love while living a comfortable lifestyle. Taking that success and pouring back into the world.
