Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Robben.

Brian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Initially, I needed a master plan to get accepted into Harvard Law School. My big idea was to create a blog, drive millions of page views, and use that as an amazing work experience on my resume. While building this website, I did hit over two million page views. But while building the audience, I became obsessed with SEO and all the positive effects for businesses. It suddenly hit me that being an entrepreneur was way more fun and profitable than being a lawyer. So I never went to law school and continued to build my online business, then slowly added customers who needed higher Google rankings, organic traffic, and sales to grow their business.

After creating Robben Media, we’ve partnered with over 260 brands, including billion dollar companies and national organizations, to grow their business using SEO. To date, we’ve generated over $37 million for our customers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road is never smooth when building a business. To say otherwise would be lying. I’ve gone through a business partner, many customers who weren’t the right fit, and went back and forth between service offerings before landing on SEO. The best advice is to push through when things get hard. If you can do that, then your company and you will only become stronger for the next challenge. You never fail, unless you quit. By continuing to tweak it until you get it right, you ensure success. It’s not easy, but it is simple. Continue to iterate until you find the winning formula. Then repeat that until it doesn’t work, and iterate again.

Robben Media is a SEO business who grows businesses using organic traffic from Google. If you have a product or service that people use Google to research and buy, then we can help you grow. Many brands rely too much on paid ads. By adding SEO to their marketing channels, they’ll receive more profitable sales and better long-term success in their business. I’m most proud of the fact that we practice what we preach. By that, I mean we do our own search optimization to grow our business and use the same refined strategies for other companies. It’s strange but unfortunately true that many marketing companies do not even do the tactics they’re recommending and executing for their clients. This helps us remain true in delivering amazing customer service and results.

What matters most to you? Why?
Growth is what matters to us most at Robben Media. When an organization is growing, opportunities rise for everyone. For example, you’re able to better serve customers, serve more customers, hire more people, increase the rate of each worker, and invest in people and community. When money is tight and you’re worried about getting your next customer, the opposite is true. People get fired, don’t have a high career trajectory, and everyone is stagnant. By focusing on growth, a business and its people will be much better off and happier.
