Hidden Gems: Meet Mary Lewis of Bodies By Mary

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Lewis.

Hi Mary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My name is Mary Lewis, soon to be Mary Price and I’m the Owner of Bodies By Mary. I’m a Fitness/Life Coach and Personal Trainer.

My career started while I was growing up on my grandparents farm. My parents gave me several opportunities to be active. Either with chores or sports, I was blessed to have family that gave me those opportunities to grow.

This soon turn into the thought of “if they can do it, then I can do it” which lead to my competitiveness.

In High School I learned alot that came with competing at the varsity level & MVP in cross country, varsity in swimming, varsity in track, and state champ in Olympic Weight Lifting.

I did end of breaking my neck during high school graduation celebration. This lead to my vast knowledge in Physical Therapy.

In College I only ran 1 year of NCAA D2 Track then quit because it was not competitive enough.

I’ve definitely stayed competitive since then and now holding the title of NQ NPC Bikini, OCR Spartan Champ, Sponsored Athlete, and a CPT.

Coaching and Training is my career, therefore, I am always going to be competitive with myself or with my client’s goals!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Injuries of course have always been an issue but I never saw them as a struggle. After -continuing through it anyways then leading to a more serious injury- I learned to see each obstacle as a challenge. I would think about how I can outsmart myself. My body is usually 10 miles behind my mentality. My biggest obstacle was having shin splits for two years. When I broke my neck in 2010, I thought my fitness career was over. Then I started my own rehab and physical therapy and 11 years later, I’m still working out intensely and even added OCR to the mix.

As you know, we’re big fans of Bodies By Mary. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

I am a Certified Personal Trainer in Cincinnati and now work with Power 3 gym. Before Power 3, I would train my clients out of gyms, homes, etc. as an Independent Contractor. Once I meant with Power 3, I was able to adapt to their practice instead of reinventing the wheel.

I specialize in everything fitness and wellness. Humbly, I have yet to come across a challenge I couldn’t help a client with. Example: Type 1 or 2 diabetes, thyroid diseases, PCOS, strongman competitor, Bodybuilder, posing, children athlete, stay at home parent, first obstacle race, general health, rehabbing injury/post-surgery, anxiety disorder…. honestly, I would have to go through my list of clients to continue. I have been blessed to have helped so many beautiful people live their strongest life.

This and my dedication/passion is what sets me apart from others. It’s the fact that I truly want you to succeed your goal that allows me to be successful.

I’m proud of my brand Bodies by Mary. I wanted something different than Mary Fitness because I feel like that is overdone.

I want people to know that we have an APP called Your Coach! It’s our Power 3 App where I can be your nutrition/fitness coach anywhere at any time! (p3fit.trainerize.com)

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
As cliché as it sounds Fitness most be your PASSION! If you are not obsessed then pivot.

Still here? Then my advice would be to have a team if you want to be a professional. I have a Business Management & Marketing degree and took classes in Entrepreneurship and I still had friends I reached out to. Don’t waste your time figuring it out for yourself and filling the wrong paperwork. Once you are an LLC then market your company in a way your target market will find you.

I am always willing to help starting Personal Trainers. I can even help them through the Power 3 App.

Pricing:

  • App- $100 monthly
  • 1:1 PT- $60 per hour
