Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherie Morgan.
Hi Cherie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi
I’m Cherie, the baker behind Morgan’s Lovely Loaf.
I am a mother, wife, teacher, friend and bread maker! I find making sourdough relaxing, and like to do it everyday! What started as a simple curiosity about sourdough quickly turned into a passion I couldn’t put down. After perfecting my method, experimenting with recipes, and baking dozens of loaves a week, I began sharing my bread with family, fellow teachers, and friends. From there, Morgan’s Lovely Loaf was born.
My Baking Philosophy
Quality ingredients matter
Time improves flavor
Bread should be both beautiful and nourishing
Baking is an act of love and connection
How I Bake
All of my bread is made using traditional sourdough techniques:
Hand‑mixed dough
Long fermentation
Hand‑shaped loaves
Scored with care
Baked fresh the same day you pick
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a very smooth road. Baking is my happy place, it’s my stress reliever.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a high school special education teacher with a focus in math and science. Teaching can be very stressful, especially since I teach in Cleveland.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have used google as a way to run my business, from website design, email, forms, scheduling and advertising.
