Daily Inspiration: Meet Devin Brautigam

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Brautigam.

Hi Devin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started From Above Aerial in 2018. Back then, it was just for fun. I traveled around and snapped photos of people’s hometowns, sunsets and everything freelance.
It wasn’t until about 2020 when we started doing full production including weddings. Shortly after that, I won a few accolades that helped me get out there. I was named Best In Ohio Weddings, Peerspacr named be one of the best in Cincinnati, I won local readers choice a few years, and even nominated in Fine Arts International for a few year. All of that, along with word of mouth and a rapidly growing following, really helped my work grow.
Recently, the past 3 year my sister joined me and together we film upwards of 50 weddings a year. She’s significantly younger than me, and full of life, so our brides really seem to love her. She really elevated my business into what it is today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I started this full time in 2020 and not only did I have COVID to battle, I have a family to support and the first few years were really scary. There has been several times I’ve questioned my decision, but I really put the work in making my work unique and getting what we do out there. The journey is quite insane to think about really, but I’m extremely grateful I stayed persistent. My wife, really never let me quit. Anytime I questioned it, she made me push forward.
Today, we’re pushing out more videos and work than my books can handle. Its all been a huge blessing. Follow your dreams, not matter how far fetched they seem.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in weddings and business. I would say were known for our creativity and experience we bring our clients. In the end, we want our clients to remember not just the video, but the day as a whole. We continously add new things whether it be in the field or post production to keep our work lively and fresh.
Our turnaround time to is a big plus. We film, edit and deliver films in around two weeks, where as some couples are waiting 30+ weeks for their film.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I wouldn’t be where I am at today without the support of my wife and family. I owe most of my success to them. Im continously gone and on the road and without their support things would look alot different.
I’ve also definitely had some amazing mentors and learned alot, and still do everyday. The moment you stop learning is when you become irrelevant. Today’s world is full of trends and new things so you have to continously add your flare to things.
