Meet Dinah Taylor of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dinah Taylor.

Hi Dinah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely. My name is Dinah Taylor, but most people know me as Dinah Did It. I’m an entrepreneur, web designer, creative strategist, and business owner based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I founded Dinah Did It, LLC in 2011 a beauty based business, and then Web Designs By Dinah, a company I started in 2013 with a passion for helping small businesses build their online presence through affordable, professional websites and branding solutions. My entrepreneurial journey actually began long before web design. I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2011, and working in the beauty industry taught me so much about branding, customer service, and the importance of presentation. As I worked with beauty professionals and small business owners, I noticed that many of them had incredible talents but lacked an effective online presence. That inspired me to learn web design and digital branding so I could help entrepreneurs showcase their businesses in a way that matched their vision. What started as a side passion quickly turned into a thriving business. Over the years, I’ve designed websites for hundreds of entrepreneurs and built a reputation for creating stylish, user-friendly websites on platforms like Wix and Shopify. I’ve been fortunate to turn my creativity into a career and have spent more than a decade helping business owners launch, rebrand, and grow their companies online. My journey hasn’t been without challenges. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to overcome personal obstacles, pivot, and continuously reinvent myself. Those experiences taught me resilience and gave me a deeper appreciation for perseverance and purpose. They also fueled my desire to empower others, not just through web design, but through mentorship, community service, and creating opportunities for people who need a fresh start.
Today, I wear many hats. I’m a business owner, creative strategist, advocate for entrepreneurship, and someone who believes in lifelong learning and growth. Everything I do is centered around helping others see the possibilities for themselves and their businesses. My story is proof that you don’t have to stay in one lane, you can evolve, embrace new passions, and build a life and career that reflects who you are becoming.
At the end of the day, “Dinah Did It” isn’t just a brand name, it’s a statement of creativity, resilience, and the belief that with hard work and vision, you can create opportunities not only for yourself but for others as well.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the entrepreneur I am today. One of my biggest challenges was being completely self-taught in web design and graphic design for the first ten years of my career. From 2013 until 2023, I learned everything on my own through trial and error, online tutorials, research, and hands-on experience. There was no blueprint or mentor guiding me. I had to teach myself how to design websites, understand branding, navigate different platforms, and keep up with constantly changing technology.
Being self-taught also taught me the true value of work. I learned that success isn’t something that’s handed to you, it’s built through consistency, discipline, and a willingness to keep learning even when things get difficult. Every website I designed, every client interaction, and every challenge I faced became an opportunity to sharpen my skills and grow both personally and professionally.
More recently, one of the biggest shifts has been the surge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on the design and graphics industry. AI has changed the landscape dramatically. Tasks that once took designers hours can now be completed in minutes, and many people question the future of creative professions. It has created increased competition and forced many creatives to rethink how they deliver value.
For me, AI isn’t something to fear, it’s something to adapt to. The rise of AI has pushed me to become even more strategic and focus on the things technology cannot replace: creativity, human connection, understanding a client’s vision, and creating personalized experiences that tell a brand’s story. I’ve learned that staying relevant means evolving, embracing new tools, and continuously investing in yourself.
The road hasn’t been easy, but every obstacle has reinforced one lesson: your ability to adapt, stay committed to your craft, and keep learning will always be your greatest asset. My journey has taught me that success isn’t about avoiding challenges,it’s about having the resilience to keep moving forward through them.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a serial entrepreneur, web designer, graphic designer, and branding strategist with more than a decade of experience helping businesses establish and elevate their brands. I am the founder of Web Designs By Dinah and Dinah Did It, LLC, where I specialize in website design, brand development, digital marketing, and creative strategy for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of business owners bring their visions to life through custom websites, logos, social media branding, and marketing materials that help them stand out in competitive industries.
I’m also deeply passionate about community impact. Through my work with Aspired Solutions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities, I’ve been able to combine my business expertise with my desire to serve others. My work with Aspired Solutions has included developing branding and marketing strategies, creating programs that support youth and families, organizing community initiatives, and helping build resources that create opportunities for education, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. Being able to use my creative skills to make a difference in people’s lives has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey.
Throughout the years, I’ve worked with businesses across a variety of industries including beauty, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, retail, and service-based businesses, helping them create professional brands and effective marketing strategies. I enjoy helping entrepreneurs see the potential in their ideas and turning those ideas into brands that are both visually appealing and strategically positioned for growth.
What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has had on others. I’m proud that I’ve built a career by being self-taught, continuously evolving, and creating opportunities not only for myself but for the businesses and organizations I’ve had the privilege to serve. Seeing a client launch their first website, rebrand their company, increase their visibility, or finally feel confident about their business is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just create websites or graphics, I help tell stories and build brands with purpose. I understand the challenges that entrepreneurs face because I am one. I bring both creativity and strategy to every project, taking the time to understand each client’s vision, goals, and audience. I believe branding is more than a logo or a website; it’s about creating an experience and a lasting impression.
I also believe my versatility sets me apart. My background in cosmetology, entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, and digital design allows me to approach projects from multiple perspectives. I’m able to connect with people, understand their needs, and create solutions that are authentic, impactful, and results-driven. At the heart of everything I do is a simple mission: to empower people and businesses to show up confidently, tell their stories, and build something meaningful.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would encourage anyone reading this to never underestimate the power of betting on yourself. Your journey may not look like everyone else’s, and that’s okay. Some of the most meaningful opportunities come from being willing to learn, adapt, and keep going even when the path isn’t clear.
I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and reinvention. I started as a licensed cosmetologist, taught myself web design and branding for over a decade, and have continued to evolve as an entrepreneur, nonprofit leader, and creative professional. Every chapter of my life has taught me that your past experiences are not limitations, they are building blocks for your future.
I also want people to understand the importance of community and collaboration. Through my work with Aspired Solutions and the many small businesses I’ve had the privilege to support over the years, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when people are given resources, encouragement, and opportunities. Success becomes even more meaningful when you’re able to bring others along with you.
As technology continues to evolve, especially with the rise of AI, I believe there will always be a place for creativity, authenticity, and human connection. Tools may change, industries may shift, and trends will come and go, but the ability to connect with people, solve problems, and create with purpose will always matter.
If my story can inspire anyone, I hope it’s this: You don’t have to have everything figured out to get started. You don’t need permission to pursue your dreams, and you don’t have to come from a perfect background to create something impactful. Stay curious, keep learning, embrace change, and never be afraid to reinvent yourself.
At the end of the day, my greatest accomplishment isn’t the websites I’ve built or the brands I’ve created, it’s knowing that through my work, I’ve been able to empower businesses, strengthen communities, and remind people that their ideas, their stories, and their dreams are worth investing in.
