Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Manson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started playing guitar at a young age and always had an interest in music. By the age of 12-13 I was performing at jam nights consistently around my area. I have played in various original projects and have been consistently gigging even since. Over the last couple of years, I have been focusing on production and have been posting daily videos online since last November. Along ith music, I also freelance social media work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. Remaining consistent and being disciplined is something I strive for, especially continuing to show up when I am not feeling it. Another struggle as an artist is general is when you put 110% of yourself into something, and it doesn’t work out how you wanted it to. But those moments are what make you realize your identity as a musician and a person.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a guitarist first. It is my first love, along with performing. I am an emerging touring guitarist, producer, and session musician. I also work as a freelance social media person. Something I am most proud of is putting any of my art into the world, regardless of what anyone thinks about me. What sets me apart from others is my drive. I am constantly trying to improve in every way, and as a goal-oriented person, I do put 100% of myself into achieving them and what I do overall.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The first thing that comes to mind is AI in art. I personally do not believe AI will replace artists as a whole. I think people can tell when something is authentic and seek out raw human expression in art. I definitely see a rise in independent artists. Although we already see it, there have been a lot of bigger artists who are independent or going independent. A big shift that I hope is on the way is something really changing about ticket prices in live music. Something I also hope to see is heavier music coming back into the mainstream more.
