Meet Young Spit of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Young Spit.

Hi Young , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Young Spit is originally from Burundi a landlocked country in east central Africa, bordering Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The main languages spoken in the Burundian Republic are Kirundi, French (both official) and Swahili.

Young Spit was born in East Africa (Tanzania) and raised in America,He came to this country as a child, and his life experiences played a major role on his overall creativity. Young Spit’s Sound is a mixture of Afro-fusion ,World Music and Hip Hop. It seems like Young Spit assimilated to the American culture and is simply expressing the experiences that contributed to his growth. We are a product of our environment. Our intelligence gives us the ability to adapt to whatever we are exposed to.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey in music started with a deep passion for self-expression and storytelling. From an early age, I knew music was more than entertainment—it was a way to connect with people and make an impact. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to develop my craft, overcome challenges, and stay consistent. Being recognized as a two-time Tuvugane Awards Artist of the Year and becoming the most nominated artist in Tuvugane Awards history has been incredibly rewarding, but I see it as motivation to keep pushing forward and reaching new heights.

I am Eric Niyomwungere, professionally known as Young Spit, a recording artist dedicated to creating music that connects with people through authentic storytelling, emotion, and real-life experiences. My music blends creativity with meaningful messages, allowing listeners to relate to the struggles, victories, and everyday moments that shape our lives.
Over the years, I have built a reputation for consistency, originality, and a strong connection with my audience. I am especially known for my ability to use music as a platform to inspire, entertain, and bring people together. Whether I’m recording in the studio or performing for a crowd, my goal is always to create an experience that leaves a lasting impact.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is being recognized as a two-time Tuvugane Awards Artist of the Year and becoming the most nominated artist in Tuvugane Awards history. These milestones represent years of dedication, hard work, and support from the fans who have believed in my journey.
What sets me apart is my commitment to staying true to myself and my story. I don’t create music simply to follow trends—I create music that reflects who I am and what I stand for. I believe authenticity is what builds lasting connections, and I strive to make every song meaningful while continuing to evolve as an artist. My focus has always been on creating a legacy through music that inspires others to pursue their dreams and remain resilient through life’s challenges.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing both creatively and professionally as an artist. I am focused on releasing new music that reaches a wider audience while staying true to the authenticity and passion that have defined my career so far.
I’m also looking forward to expanding my brand beyond my current reach by collaborating with more artists, performing on bigger stages, and connecting with fans in new markets. As someone who has been honored as a two-time Tuvugane Awards Artist of the Year and the most nominated artist in Tuvugane Awards history, I see these achievements as a foundation rather than a destination.
One of my biggest priorities is continuing to evolve as an artist and creating music that inspires people and leaves a lasting impact. I have several exciting projects in development, and I’m looking forward to sharing them with my supporters. The future is all about growth, consistency, and taking my career to the next level while continuing to represent my community and inspire the next generation of artists.
