Meet Janita Boles-Cochrane of Suga and Creme Enhancements LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janita Boles-Cochrane.

Hi Janita, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
For starters I never had a cup of coffee in my life. I would have told you it was the worst thing i ever smelt or tasted, but as a little girl I heard a song called “”Me and Mrs. Jones”. I had know idea what this tune was about, all I knew was if they met in the same cafe everyday and I wanted them to share their love for each other in mine one day.

Starting was a bit of a struggle because I had to drink a product I’ve never tried but want to sale. I held tastings with friends and family to help me along with that part and then I found the perfect manufacturer for me to provide my product.

I am a vendor/coffee distributor. I provide a variety of Gourmet Flavored Coffees at local farmer’s market, pop up shows, and craft shows, and I also have an online market.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s a smooth road until it gets bumpy. I’ve had my share of up and downs and should I cross the street now or later. For me at times it was to jump now and not second guess the issue.

I struggled building a strong base and foundation financially. I picked up an extra job and did odd and ends to gain start up money.

I had to learn how to make a marvelous cup of coffee not a good cup of coffee, to share the story from my palette to yours. The more I tasted the more information I could share about my product. So research and a lot of caffeine was my life for months.

All struggles are not bad struggles or set backs. It’s a look back for improvement and making a difference in a product to provide the best to your consumers.

We’ve been impressed with Suga and Creme Enhancements LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What were you like growing up?
I am the seventh child of eight, four older brothers and one younger brother. So I did woodshop and industrial art in school, built model cars and tried my hardest to mimic their art of drawing. In our home, there were always people there and something to do. I was always willing to learn new things and was very curious but quiet and kept to myself. I’m short so sports didn’t go well with me, plus my attention span was not sports inclined. I like making and creating thing with my hands, listening to music, writing poetry, occasionally singing and having a marvelous cup of coffee.
