Rising Stars: Meet Lisbeth Machangu of Ohio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisbeth Machangu.

Lisbeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
KidsPartySquad started in 2021 in a parking lot, during a time that changed our perspective on life and community forever. A neighbor’s 1-year-old was going through cancer treatment, and we wanted to find a way to bring a little joy during such a difficult season.
What began as a small setup to support and uplift one family quickly became something much bigger. Seeing the smiles, the connection, and the way people came together reminded us how powerful community can be especially during hard times.
From that small parking lot setup, KidsPartySquad was born. Built on compassion, resilience, and the belief that celebrations can bring light even during challenging moments, our mission has always been bigger than parties. It’s about creating memories, supporting families, and bringing people together.
What started with one family in 2021 has now grown into serving countless families across our community and that original purpose will always remain at the heart of KidsPartySquad.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not.
KidsPartySquad started in 2021 from a parking lot while trying to introduce something many people around us had never even seen before. Soft play rentals were still a very new concept in our area, so one of the biggest challenges was simply helping people understand what we offered and why it was special.
In the beginning, we had very limited equipment and supplies. Everything in this industry is expensive from the soft play sets, bounce houses, flooring, and transportation, storage, cleaning supplies, and delivery equipment. Every piece we added took sacrifice, patience, and reinvesting back into the business little by little.
There were moments when we doubted ourselves. Some weekends were slow, some setups were exhausting, and building trust as a new business was not easy. We had to work twice as hard to prove the value of our service while still learning the business ourselves.
But every struggle helped shape who we are today. What kept us going was seeing families happy, kids enjoying themselves, and the support from our community. Looking back now, those difficult moments were part of the foundation that built KidsPartySquad into what it is today.
It was never a smooth road but it was a meaningful one.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
KidsPartySquad is a family-owned business that specializes in soft play rentals, bounce houses, party setups, and creating fun, memorable experiences for families and communities across Central Ohio. Over the years, we have expanded beyond just rentals and focused on creating spaces where kids can safely play, families can connect, and events truly feel special.
We are known for our clean setups, attention to detail, professionalism, and the personal care we put into every event whether it’s a small birthday party, school event, community festival, or large celebration. We take pride in making the process easy and stress-free for families while delivering an experience that feels unique and welcoming.
Personally, I’m known for being hardworking, creative, and very hands-on with everything I do. I’m someone who pays close attention to details, loves creating beautiful and welcoming environments, and always tries to make sure people feel appreciated and cared for. I’m also proud of being resilient and resourceful learning how to grow a business from the ground up even when resources were limited and the concept itself was still new to many people.
What I’m most proud of is how far we’ve come from our humble beginnings in 2021. What started as a small setup in a parking lot has grown into a business trusted by many families, organizations, and communities. I’m proud that our journey was built through hard work, consistency, faith, and genuine passion for serving others.
What sets us apart is the heart behind the business. For us, it has never been just about equipment or rentals it’s about creating joy, building relationships, and making people feel valued. We understand how important celebrations and community moments are, and we approach every event with that mindset.
As a minority and woman-owned business, I also take pride in representing perseverance, growth, and community impact. Every setup tells part of our story, and we’re grateful for every family and organization that has trusted us along the way.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I believe the party and event industry especially children’s entertainment and soft play rentals will continue to grow and become more experience-focused than ever before. Families are no longer just looking for a venue or decorations; they want memorable, customized experiences that feel unique, safe, and stress-free for both kids and parents.
One of the biggest shifts I see is the demand for high-quality setups, luxury-style children’s parties, and interactive entertainment. Soft play has already grown tremendously from being an unknown concept a few years ago to becoming a major trend at birthdays, weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings. I believe that growth will continue as more families prioritize safe, age-appropriate entertainment for younger children.
I also see social media continuing to shape the industry heavily. Parents now look for visually appealing setups, personalized themes, and “Instagram-worthy” events. Businesses that can combine creativity, customer experience, and strong branding will stand out the most.
Another major trend will be convenience and full-service experiences. Families are busy, so companies that can offer complete event solutions setup, entertainment, décor, rentals, and coordination will have a strong advantage.
I also believe there will be more emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and professionalism in the industry. Customers are becoming more selective about who they trust with their events, especially when children are involved. Businesses that are reliable, organized, insured, and community-focused will continue to grow.
Personally, I hope to see more diversity and representation in the industry as well. As a minority and woman-owned business, I think it’s important to show that businesses built from passion, resilience, and community support can grow into something impactful and lasting
