Community Highlights: Meet Patrick Parin of 5 Frenchies Old North Dayton Bakery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Parin.

Hi Patrick, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been in the food service industry for a total of 7 years. My dream is to open a food service establishment. When I finished culinary I realized that there are not very many bakers and bakeries anymore. I went back in 2022 shortly after earning my culinary arts degree to earn my baking and pastry degree and earned it in 2023. I found this bakery in the fall of 2025 to pursue which is very well established and would be perfect for me to pursue my dream. Right now 5 Frenchies has been open for less than 6 months and has been going very well so far.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been relatively smooth however there have been some challenges. One of them is trying to find time for me to work on my business rather than working in it.

We are a full service bakery in Dayton Ohio. Some of our specialty offerings include fresh made breads, pastries, donuts, cookies, cakes, and plenty more. One thing that sets us apart from the other bakeries is we try to help other local business out. For example we are doing a lot of wholesale business from our bakery, meaning we sell breads, pastries, and donuts to a lot of other local Dayton restaurants and businesses which helps with not only brand recognition it also helps with the small business community.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many people do not know that in 2018 I earned the rank of Eagle Scout. This is the highest honor in Scouts that only 2% earn and those who do not earn regret it down the road in life. This explains ones work ethic and dedication which is very important as a business owner if you want to see your business grow and develop to become what it is that you are looking for.
