Today we’d like to introduce you to Gia Rossi.
Hi Gia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi guys my name is Gia! My story starts as young as growing up watching my dad being a body builder, my brother being into fitness and my mom loving fitness as well. I was always surrounded by it. After loosing both my parents, my life was feeling shaky and I got very into yoga at the time. Yoga felt like my grounding – it kept me above water. I graduated college pursuing education and always loved teaching people. Living in Cleveland, I have seen a need for fitness, community and intentional movement. In July, I traveled to Bali and Thailand for a 8 day intensive mat pilates training where i studied styles from all over the world. Coming back, I started doing pop-up events around Cleveland in local coffee shops, wellness spaces, thrift stores, parks and really enjoyed meeting the community along the way. I decided to take a leap of faith and open up my own spot called “Energi” – a fitness space for the community focusing on intentional movement, color and light. Everyone is welcome. The space is inclusive and full of light. The instructors are carefully selected and most importantly the studio has SOUL behind it. My parents are giving me the strength to open this spot and i’m so excited for the ride. Its only just the beginning.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When you love something so much, it makes it easy to dive in head first. With that being said, of course theres been some struggles but none i cant handle. Permitting is definitely something that took me by surprise. If anyone is looking to start or open their own business- I would always get ahead of the permitting.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in fitness classes- both mat pilates and strength training. I am known for popping up in parks, coffee shops, thrift shops around the city- combining fitness with community.
I am proud of the community i’ve built around fitness. I think what sets me apart is the space i’m creating- it has a feel of down to earth vibes in there, a mix of yoga and bumping music just a bit different then Cleveland has seen.
How do you define success?
Success is creating a life that aligns with me. Creating a life that makes me happy and fulfilled- created Energi is exactly what I would define as success. Its bringing me the most joy.
