Community Highlights: Meet Joe Claire of 513 Motorsports

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Claire.

Joe, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up on a farm in rural Indiana, in Benton County near Fowler. I attended Purdue University, where I earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While in school, I interned with DaimlerChrysler in Kokomo, Indiana.

After graduating, I moved to Maine and worked for Nestlé Waters for two years before relocating to Springfield, Missouri, where I spent about five years working for Kraft Foods. In 2008, I moved to Ohio to work for MillerCoors in Trenton.

During my time at MillerCoors, I began working on cars for others in my spare time. Over time, demand grew to the point where I found myself working nearly every evening and weekend. In 2014, I officially founded 513Motorsports, LLC. I continued working at MillerCoors until January 2021, when I transitioned full-time into growing the business.

Since then, 513Motorsports has continued to expand, and in 2023 we purchased our current shop location at 5135 College Corner Pike in Oxford, Ohio. Today, we have six full-time employees, including myself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have had lots of support from my friends and family along the way. We have been blessed with a great community and great customers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We work on nearly all makes and models of vehicles. Our maintenance and repair services range from routine brake and suspension work to complete engine and transmission replacements.

In addition to repair services, we offer a wide variety of aftermarket parts, accessories, and performance upgrades to help customers customize and improve their vehicles. We also support many of the performance products we sell with in-house testing and calibration using our all-wheel-drive chassis dyno.

We are able to tune a wide range of vehicles and specialize in advanced performance work, including fuel injection conversions and engine swaps.

We plan to continue to support our community and our customers with most all of their automotive needs.
