Hi Mikaela, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My Lagree journey started a few years ago when I was living in Los Angeles. I took my first class and was instantly hooked, it was unlike anything I had ever done. It challenged me mentally and physically, transformed my body, and made me feel stronger than ever. I ended up completing my Megaformer training in LA, and that experience completely changed my passion for fitness.
When I moved back to Cleveland, I knew I wanted to bring the Lagree Method here. I felt like Cleveland deserved a studio that delivered that same high-end, results-driven workout, but with a fun, upbeat, confident vibe.
That’s how 216 Lagree was born! A space built around strength, community, and empowerment, where every class feels like an experience and everyone leaves feeling like their best self.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all,it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Building 216 Lagree was extremely challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. I was only 26 years old when I created the concept, and as the sole owner, I had to put my whole life into making this vision real. There were a lot of moments that tested me mentally, financially, and emotionally. And I had to learn quickly how to stay focused, disciplined, and resilient.
I truly believe discipline equals freedom, and this process taught me how to lock in, prioritize what matters, and keep going even when things felt overwhelming. Looking back, every struggle was worth it because now I genuinely love what I do every day, and I’m proud to bring Lagree to Cleveland in a way that feels authentic to me.

216 Lagree is a Lagree Method studio built around results, community, and confidence. We specialize in high-intensity, low-impact strength training on the MegaPro machine, which is designed to build lean muscle, improve endurance, and create full-body definition without putting stress on the joints.
One thing that’s important for people to know is that the Lagree Method is patented and requires intense certification and training. It’s a “live” method, meaning it’s constantly evolving, and as a studio we are always learning, staying up to date, and continuing our education to deliver the most effective classes possible. Personally, I’m currently completing my Level 2 training and I’m also on the waitlist to become a Level 3 Master Trainer. My goal is to reach the highest level of Lagree certification, not only for myself, but to continue educating my staff and raising the standard of what we offer.
What sets 216 Lagree apart is that we are the only Lagree-certified studio in Ohio City and the only studio in Cleveland with MegaPro machines, which truly take the workout to the next level. We are known for our high-energy, empowering environment, but also for the quality of our instruction and the structure of our classes.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the team we’ve built. Our instructors are incredibly dedicated to the method and to our clients, you can genuinely feel how much they care in every class. We don’t just teach workouts, we teach Lagree the right way.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Absolutely. A lot of what helps me stay inspired and continue growing comes directly from the Lagree community. I love following Lagree Master Trainers on social media because they’re constantly sharing new moves, advanced sequencing, modifications, and education on the method. Since Lagree is always evolving, I’m always learning.
I also love traveling to different cities and taking classes at other Lagree studios. It keeps me inspired creatively and helps me stay connected to what’s new in the Lagree world. By the time this article comes out, I’ll have also completed a Lagree workshop retreat in Bali, where I’ll be further educated on advanced workshops and next-level movement.
Outside of work, I’m really into biohacking and wellness, things like red light therapy, grounding in nature, and prioritizing recovery. I also love listening to The Mel Robbins Podcast, which keeps me motivated and focused on mindset and discipline.
