Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Nunn.

Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
’m a mom to my incredible 9-year-old daughter, Olivia, and I have the most supportive husband, Austin. We’re originally from Oklahoma, but we made the move to Ohio in search of better opportunities and higher pay for educators.

Education was my first passion. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of Oklahoma, and I spent nine years in the classroom. Teaching shaped who I am—it gave me patience, creativity, and a deep love for helping others feel confident and capable.

Like so many people, COVID changed everything. The shift in childcare demands for my daughter led me to step away from teaching, which was not an easy decision. During that time of uncertainty, I did something small that ended up changing my life—I got my eyebrows done.

I was instantly intrigued by the process. As someone who has always loved tattoos and makeup, it felt like the perfect blend of artistry and precision. The artist who did my brows was incredibly kind and pointed me toward training with Sara Burks at Dolled Up. That mentorship changed everything. Sara’s guidance and leadership gave me the foundation and confidence to pursue this path, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without her.

What started as curiosity quickly turned into passion. I fell in love with brows—the transformation, the confidence it gives clients, the artistry behind it. I began searching for the right place to build something of my own, and with my husband by my side—who built my website and created my logo—I took the leap into entrepreneurship.

Finding my space at Changes Salon Studios was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It gave me not only a physical home for my business, but a community that aligned with my values and vision.

The rest, as they say, is history—but really, it’s just the beginning.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has truly been a labor of love. In my first year, I worked seven days a week and took on countless services at little to no cost to build my portfolio and grow my brand. I showed up consistently, marketed myself fearlessly across every platform available, and poured everything I had into making this dream work.

What made the biggest difference was the support at home. Having people who believed in me—and reminded me that I was capable of building something meaningful—gave me the confidence to keep going, even when it was hard.

Looking back, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for my family. Not only has it allowed me to create a life with more flexibility and purpose, but it’s also brought incredible people into my world. Some of my clients have become my closest friends, and I’m surrounded daily by coworkers who are talented, supportive, and genuinely uplifting.

I feel incredibly grateful for the community I’ve built and the space I get to work in—it truly feels like home.

A+ Cosmetic Studio was built on a passion for helping women feel confident, effortless, and elevated in their everyday beauty. I specialize in permanent makeup, with a focus on powder brows, lip blushing (including lip neutralization), and permanent eyeliner. My work is known for being soft, natural, and timeless—enhancing my clients’ features rather than overpowering them.

What truly sets me apart is the experience I provide. From the moment a client sits in my chair, my goal is for them to feel seen, heard, and completely taken care of. I take a very customized approach to every service—no two faces are the same, and I believe your results should be as unique as you are. I also prioritize comfort, education, and aftercare so my clients feel confident not just in their results, but in the entire process.

I’m also incredibly proud of the trust I’ve built within my community. Growing my business from the ground up—through consistency, word of mouth, and genuine relationships—has been one of my biggest accomplishments. My clients aren’t just clients; many of them have become close friends, and that means everything to me.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating something that reflects both luxury and authenticity. I wanted a space where women could come in, relax, feel pampered, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves—without it ever feeling intimidating or transactional.

In addition to permanent makeup, I also offer fine line, simple tattoos as a fun and meaningful extension of my artistry. These pieces allow clients to express themselves in a subtle, personal way and have quickly become a favorite add-on service.
