Rising Stars: Meet Yolanda Murphy of Gahanna

Hi Yolanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Yolanda Murphy is a visionary leader and entrepreneur dedicated to fostering independence, dignity, and equality for individuals with developmental disabilities. With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry—spanning roles from frontline Homemaker Personal Care aide to Program Coordinator—Yolanda founded Love for Mankind LLC in 2018.

Originally launched in Pataskala, Ohio, the organization quickly outgrew its 3,000 initial space. Under Yolanda’s leadership, the company reached a major milestone by purchasing a 14,000-square-foot office building in Gahanna, Ohio, which now serves as a state-of-the-art Day Program facility and Office. Today, the organization offers 16 diverse services to over 200 individuals, supported by a robust non-medical transportation fleet of 34 vehicles.
In September 2024, Yolanda expanded Love for Mankind’s reach into the Cleveland and Cincinnati markets, further cementing her commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive care across Ohio.

Beyond healthcare, Yolanda is a force in the pre-employment and safety sectors. As of November 2024, she serves as the President and Owner of Mobile Fingerprinting LLC Solutions and Ohio Pre-Employment Services LLC. A Certified Breath Alcohol Instructor (BAT) and Certified Biometric Technician Instructor (CBT), Yolanda utilizes her technical expertise to ensure workplace safety and compliance.

Today, Yolanda leads a workforce of over 80 employees, driven by the core belief that everyone deserves to be treated equally and empowered to thrive. When she isn’t building her organizations, Yolanda finds joy in the simple things: cooking, decorating, and spending quality time with the family and friends who inspire her work every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Growing my Company finding reliable employee that share the sane passion as me. Sacrificing time my family.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. I offer services no one else provide 24hr transportation. My Day Program worker’s are pay minimum wage. I offer a woodshop/ hand on hand handing maintenance experience to my Vocational Rehabilitation worker’s/ Group Employment worker’s.

What sets me apart is that i am not just an executive behind a desk i am a caregiver-turned-builder who understands this industry from the ground up.

My unique “edge” comes from a combination of lived experience, specialized expertise, and a massive physical infrastructure that most providers can’t match.

Frontline Perspective: Unlike many CEOs, I have actually done the work. My time as an HPC aide and Home Manager means i understand the unspoken needs of individuals and the real-world challenges my staff faces every day.
