One of the most defining moments of “bad luck” came right as the business was beginning to grow: the arrival of COVID. For a new event company built around weddings, celebrations, and gatherings, it felt like the worst possible timing. Events were canceled, everything slowed down, and the future of the industry suddenly felt uncertain.
In that moment, it would have been easy to see it only as setback after setback. But in hindsight, that period forced growth in a way nothing else could have. It pushed adaptability, creativity, and resilience to the forefront. It also shaped the foundation of the business—teaching flexibility with clients, deeper empathy for stressful planning situations, and the importance of being a calm, reliable presence when things change unexpectedly.
On the other side, there have been moments that could be called “good luck,” but they’ve often come in the form of timing and people. A referral at the right time.
