Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrick Beekman.

Hi Darrick, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2012 my partner and I decided we would like to open a wine bar which allowed people to chill, relax, catch up with friends, dates, family gatherings, etc with a wine selection from different areas of the world.. Unwind Wine Bar opened in December 2012. We like to call it an upscale wine bar without the upscale attitude or price. We have now been in business for 13 years and still love every moment of it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The 2 months that we were required to be shut down for COVID was the largest challange. When we were allowed to reopen under certain guidelines it was also challanging but we were determined to survive.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the owner and only manager (Darrick Beekman) and am always present unless I am out of town. A lot of customers admire the fact that I am involved on a daily basis out front.
