Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Markko.

Hi Jake, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I took a Video production class in highschool and I absolutely loved it, So I tried to find a job as a photographer but I got declined everywhere I went because I didnt have enough experience and didn’t go to college for it, so feeling defeated, I got a random job to start getting money. And I saved up enough to buy a camera and I started asking everyone I knew that I was taking photos and starting a business and my boss at the time helped me out so much. And I remember going to my first photo shoot and it was for senior photos, and I was the most nervous I have ever felt in my life. But after the session it went perfect! She even referred me to do weddings, her other kids senior photos, etc. Now fast forward a little over a year I do this full time traveling Doing Family/Senior Photos, Couples/Weddings and alot of Commercial Photography and Videography, and I truly do love every second of it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Buying a $4000 camera and lens because I wanted to, my friends and family said it didn’t make sense to.
Learning how to market myself was a bigger obstacle than I thought it would be in the beginning.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Photography for Familes and Couples.
Photo+Video for Businesses. I got awarded the best Commercial photographer in Cleveland a couple months ago, I really prioritize giving as much value as I can to the client, so I really try to under promise and over deliver. I’d say I manage expectations really well.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think AI will be beneficial in speeding up delivery. I think Headshot Photography will become less popular due to AI.
