Hi Cassie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My photography journey began in the most unexpected, meaningful way—when my husband gifted me my first camera for Christmas all because I loved taking photos. That single gift quietly changed everything and quickly became so much more than I could have ever imagined. I began learning, experimenting, and capturing everything around me, falling in love with the art of storytelling through beautiful imagery. With each frame, I became more drawn to the emotion, connection, and beauty found in everyday and once-in-a-lifetime moments.

Now I am going on 8 years and that spark has grown into a full-time fine art wedding photography business rooted in capturing joy, emotion, and connection in its most honest form. I get to document love stories for couples in a way that feels intentional, timeless, and true to who I am—and at the heart of it all, creating images that help my couples feel deeply seen, remembered, and celebrated.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. There were seasons of learning how to run a business, how to master settings, growing as an artist, figuring out pricing, and finding confidence in my style and voice. There were also time when seasons were slower and bookings felt uncertain and I had to trust the process and keep pushing. Those challenges shaped me into the intentional photographer and business owner, and they are a big part of why I value my work and clients.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in wedding photography with a focus on fine art, timeless, and editorial imagery that blends emotion and intention. My work is rooted in true-to-color editing, natural storytelling, and a thoughtful, artistic approach. I’m especially drawn to the quiet in-between moments that often go unnoticed but end up meaning the most.

I’m proud of creating an experience where my couples feel seen and cared for while trusting me to preserve their day with honesty and artistry. It’s truly an honor to document such meaningful memories in a way that feels natural and true to each couple.

My approach to storytelling is what sets me apart. I balance direction with observation, allowing real moments to unfold while gently guiding my couples so they feel confident and at ease.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe in taking meaningful risks that align when something feels right. The biggest risk I’ve taken was stepping into going full-time with photography. I was leaving behind the stability of my teaching career to pursue something creative that had many unknowns.

Growth often requires a level of trust in yourself and the process. I weigh decisions thoughtfully while not letting fear hold me back from avenues that align. Most moment with my business have from from pushing forward through the fear.
