Hi Jenna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, I’m Jenna Renee,

Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mother founded Total Image Photography in the 1970s, and I grew up alongside her, watching and learning as she captured weddings and senior portraits. In 2010, I proudly took over the business as the sole owner and photographer, continuing the legacy while exploring different styles to find my own creative voice.

After an unexpected personal chapter, I made the difficult decision to step away from photography for a time. While that period was challenging, it ultimately led me back to what I love with a renewed sense of purpose. In early 2024, I officially reintroduced myself and my work through a rebrand—launching CHERISHED by J Renee Photography.

Today, I’m more passionate than ever about creating meaningful, lasting images for my clients. I understand the value of your time, your vision, and your investment. Photography should not feel out of reach or overly complicated—it should be an experience that is enjoyable, personal, and accessible.

My philosophy is simple: your photos are meant to be cherished. They are not meant to sit untouched or feel too “precious” to enjoy. They are meant to be revisited, shared, and loved for years to come. For many, these images become priceless reminders of the people and moments that matter most—especially as time moves forward.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey in photography has not been without its challenges. Since starting in the early 2000s, I have experienced many significant life events—supporting my mother through her battle with cancer, building a family, navigating a divorce, finding love again, and now preparing to welcome a new baby.

Along the way, I’ve also faced skepticism about my pricing, with some assuming that affordability reflects a lack of quality. While I may not claim to be the best in the industry, I am confident in my skills, experience, and the care I put into my work. Photography is more than just pressing a button—it requires knowledge, creativity, and a genuine connection with the people and moments being captured.

These experiences have shaped not only who I am as a person, but also the photographer I’ve become—resilient, passionate, and deeply committed to providing meaningful images at a value my clients can appreciate.

We’ve been impressed with CHERISHED by JRenee Photography , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At CHERISHED by J Renee Photography, my focus is simple—capturing genuine, meaningful moments that my clients can hold onto for a lifetime. I specialize in lifestyle photography, including families, children, seniors, and milestone moments. My style leans toward natural, authentic connections rather than overly posed or heavily edited images, allowing each session to reflect the true personality of the people in front of the camera.
My brand is built on the belief that photos are meant to be cherished—not stored away. I want my clients to revisit their images often, share them freely, and truly connect with the memories they represent.

This versatility allows me to connect with people from all walks of life and tell a variety of unique stories. No two sessions are ever the same, and I truly value the opportunity to adapt my approach to fit each client’s personality, comfort level, and vision. I strive to create a relaxed, judgment-free environment where clients feel confident and comfortable being themselves. Whether it’s an intimate boudoir session or a once-in-a-lifetime birth story, I approach every moment with professionalism, and respect.
This brand is not just about photography—it’s about connection, growth, and creating something meaningful through every stage of life. I’ve built CHERISHED with intention, and I continue to pour that same care into every session I take on.
I want readers to know that when they choose me, they’re not just booking a photographer—they’re investing in an experience that values authenticity, affordability, and lasting memories.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck. I make comments about good or bad luck occasionally, however, I believe what’s meant to be, will be in one way or another.

Pricing:

• Senior Photos. $150-185 1 day shoot, 30min-2hr time slot available to client, locations of their choosing. Suggestions by photographer are available if needed. If an additional day is needed to shoot (not due to weather permitting) an additional $35 is added to shoot charge.
• Family. $150 Location(s) of your choosing, or recommendations by photographer are available. 1-2 hr shoot.
• Boudoir. $170 Lingerie type photo shoot for you or for your significant other.
