Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia Weiss.
Lydia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a family chiropractor specializing in perinatal and pediatric care, and I’m deeply passionate about supporting families during some of the most important and vulnerable seasons of life.
My path into this work started with a desire to better understand the human body and how it heals. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University, and went on to receive my Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. But it wasn’t until I began working closely with pregnant moms, newborns, and young families that I truly found my calling.
After graduating in 2021, I spent four years as an associate chiropractor in a practice focused on perinatal, pediatric, and wellness care. During that time, I had the opportunity to care for hundreds of families navigating everything from pregnancy discomfort and birth preparation to challenges like colic, reflux, sleep difficulties, and torticollis in their babies. Seeing the way the nervous system impacts overall health and how gentle, specific care can support the body completely shaped the way I practice today.
I’ve continued to expand my training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), including earning my Webster Certification for prenatal care. I specialize in nervous system-focused, age-appropriate techniques designed to be calming, gentle, and effective for both moms and babies.
Becoming a mom myself added a whole new layer to this work. I understand firsthand how overwhelming and emotional pregnancy and early parenthood can be, and how important it is to feel truly supported. That experience has made my care even more intentional.
My mission is to make chiropractic care feel approachable, safe, and deeply supportive because you deserve to feel your best while caring for the people you love.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the transition into business ownership while also being a present and intentional mother. There’s never a “perfect” time to take a leap, and deciding to step away from a practice where I had spent over four years building relationships and caring for hundreds of families was not easy.
It meant leaving behind something comfortable and stepping into the unknown, all while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood. There were moments of doubt and growing pains, but I’ve learned that meaningful growth often comes from those uncomfortable seasons.
I chose to move forward anyway, trusting in the vision I had for creating a space that felt even more aligned with the way I want to serve families. That decision required resilience, faith, and a willingness to keep showing up even on the hard days.
As you know, we’re big fans of Blossom & Bloom Family Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Blossom & Bloom Family Wellness, I provide nervous system-focused chiropractic care for individuals and families in all stages of life. While I have a special focus on pregnancy, postpartum, and pediatric care, my goal is to create a space where anyone can feel supported, understood, and at ease in their health journey.
I specialize in age-appropriate techniques designed to support the nervous system and help the body function at its best. I care for a wide range of patients from newborns and children to busy parents and adults navigating stress, tension, and everyday physical demands.
Whether someone is preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, or simply looking to feel and function better, care is always thorough and intentional.
What sets my practice apart is the experience. I’ve created an environment that feels calm, welcoming, and unrushed. A place where patients feel comfortable asking questions and confident in the care they’re receiving. You will never feel like just a number at Blossom & Bloom.
Each visit is thoughtful and centered around connection, not just treatment.
I’m especially proud of the trust I build with my patients and families. Many people walk in feeling overwhelmed, tense, or unsure, and my goal is for them to leave feeling more regulated, supported, and empowered in their health.
More than anything, I want people to know that chiropractic care can be a gentle, approachable, and impactful way to support overall wellness. My mission is to help people feel their best, function well, and show up more fully in their everyday lives.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that might surprise people is that I originally thought I would become a nurse in the military. I had this vision of traveling the world and caring for wounded soldiers, and I actually started down that path in nursing school.
Along the way, something didn’t feel quite right. That led me to explore exercise physiology, where I was first introduced to chiropractic care and everything clicked. I fell in love with the philosophy of supporting the body’s ability to heal and function from within.
What’s funny is that while my path looks very different than I originally imagined, the heart behind it is still the same. Instead of traveling the world, I’m rooted in my home community, caring for moms, babies, and families during some of the most important moments of their lives.
In a way, I still get to do exactly what I set out to do which is serve, support, and care for people, just in a way that feels more aligned with who I am.
